This maternity session was a little extra special. 🤍

I’ve been friends with this mama’s mom since high school and college roommates, so getting to photograph her daughter as she prepares to welcome baby #2 was one of those full-circle moments.

And can we talk about this gorgeous mama, that black lace dress, and this light?! 😍

We captured a little bit of everything—mom by herself, sweet moments with dad, and big sister loving on the baby that she’ll be meeting very soon. These are the kinds of images that become even more meaningful as the years go by.

What you see ➡️ vs. what’s happening behind the camera. 📸❤️

Beautiful, natural-looking couples photos usually don’t happen because I simply say, “Okay…now look at each other.” 😂

There’s a lot of talking happening behind my camera!

I’ll guide you into a starting position, give you little prompts and movements, tell you what to do with those hands 😉 and encourage you the entire time.

Because my goal isn’t to create a gallery full of stiff “poses.”

It’s to get you comfortable enough that the pose turns into a moment—a laugh, a look, a touch or one of those little interactions that actually feels like you.

Lana + Griffin made this one pretty easy. ❤️💍

Same mom. Same photographer. VERY different senior photo experience. 😂

Last year, senior pictures with my daughter meant THREE sessions, multiple locations, multiple outfits, planning, ideas… she was ALL IN. 📸

Then came my son’s senior year.

His senior photo wish list was a little different:
✔️ One session
✔️ Minimal outfit changes
✔️ Please don’t make this take forever 😂

Challenge accepted.

So we headed downtown, kept things simple, moved quickly, and I tried really hard to remember that I was his mom AND his photographer—and not torture the poor kid. 😂

And you know what? I absolutely LOVE what we captured.

Because senior pictures don’t have to be a huge production to be meaningful. They just need to feel like them.

These feel like him. Relaxed. Simple. A little urban. No forced smiles or anything that felt unnatural. And yes…I even managed to get a few genuine smiles out of him. ❤️

As his mom, this session hit a little differently. Somehow the kid I swear was just little yesterday is a SENIOR. 🥹

And as a photographer, it was a good reminder: meet your senior where they are. Some want the full senior-photo experience…and some just want Mom to get the pictures and let them go home. 😂

Both are completely okay.

And Austin…I promise, that wasn’t too painful. 😉❤️

P.S. for parents of senior boys: If your son is already telling you he doesn’t want senior pictures, send him my way. We can keep it relaxed, quick and painless—and still give you the photos you want. 📸

💍 Lana + Griffin | Engagement Sneak Peek

Eight years ago, Lana was in front of my camera for her senior pictures. Last year, I had the chance to photograph her brother for his senior session. And now… I get to photograph Lana again—this time with her fiancé, Griffin. ❤️

These two met while in pharmacy school, and now they’re getting ready to start a whole new chapter together. 💍

Their session was full of laughter, sweet little moments, and that comfortable kind of connection that makes my job incredibly easy. And can we talk about that RING shot?! 😍

One of the things I love most about doing photography for so many years is getting to watch families grow and being invited back to document the next chapter. From senior pictures… to engagement pictures. That’s pretty darn special. ❤️

Somewhere between childhood and what comes next. 🤍

Senior year is such a unique season — one foot still in the life you’ve always known, and the other stepping toward something completely new.

Next year, she’ll be heading off to UK and beginning a whole new chapter. 💙 But I absolutely loved that she brought her childhood teddy bear along for part of her senior session. 🧸

There’s something pretty special about photographing the girl she is today while holding onto just a little piece of the girl she used to be.

From childhood memories to college dreams… this is exactly why I love senior photography. These sessions aren’t just about pretty pictures. They’re about capturing who you are right now, before everything changes.

And can we talk about how gorgeous this entire session was?! 😍

This is what I love about senior sessions. 🤍

Not just pretty pictures—but photos that actually tell me something about you.

We captured the relaxed, natural side of this gorgeous senior and then incorporated a big part of her high school story—running for Ballard. ❤️🏃‍♀️

That combination is exactly what I want a senior gallery to feel like: your personality, your interests, your story.

Senior sneak peek! 💙✨

I had the fun opportunity to photograph twins on back-to-back days — and I absolutely loved getting to create two sessions that were completely their own.

First up, twin #1! 🎓

Her session was bright, natural and full of personality — from wildflowers and the creek to finishing up on the track. We incorporated pieces of who she is right now while still capturing those classic senior portraits her family will treasure.

And just wait until you see her twin brother’s session….completely different vibe, completely different locations, and completely him.

Because even when you’re twins, your senior pictures should tell your own story. ❤️
