Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.
4.5 short years ago, I never knew such a day existed. I barely knew what Fentanyl was.
Now I know all to well. 😢
Our son is not just another statistic in the local newspaper!
He was a son, daddy, brother, grandson, cousin, uncle, friend and a child of God!
He was and still is loved, has purpose and value.
The person who gave him Fentanyl is still free, living life with no concens...he/she will probably never be prosecuted...but God knows, he will make it right!
Young folks, don't become a memory!!
Say no, walk away, drop that 'friend' who is trying to talk you into getting high! Be strong and live for your mama, for your present and future children...for yourself.
So now, every year on August 31st, this mama will be sharing the unbearable pain of thousands of other grieving mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and children who will be remembering a loved one...folks who thought they were just going to party with their friends...ya know...no big deal...just a buzz! Instead, evil stood before them, handing them a death sentence.
Shattered families are left behind to pick up those broken pieces that can never, ever, be put back together correctly...we will never be the same.
We will grieve forever 💔
