We provide fantastic resident and vacation photo training and tours. Some just a few hours long and some full day. Here's basic background on our most popular course of 3 hours and on the instructor. ABOUT THE COURSE:
Each segment of the course is hands on and is about 30 minutes per section:
1. In this class we take you from square one -- assuming you have no knowledge of photography -- and walk
you thorugh a 30 min primer on practical skills. We use the great photographers and their photos featured at Fleetwood's Gallery as a quick course in what to do RIGHT and HOW to do it!
2. Then we shoot together indoors for 30 min. We learn how to "see like a photograopher" and how to making the ordinary extraordinary. (The photo on this event promotion page was taken in Fleetwood's store. It's a study of guitar string bracelets on sale there. The lighting is great already in this retail store.)
3. Next -- We Review and talk about how to enhance what was taken.
4. Then we talk technique and tips for outdoor shooting and sunset shooting.
5. Then -- We then go outside near sunset and shoot the water, clouds, sky, rocks, sailboats, leaves, nature for 30 min.
6. Finally, we go back inside the gallery to review and share. Talk about what to do to make what was shot even better. When you leave this 3 hour course, you will be a better photographer for the rest of your life. ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR:
Jonathan Todd is an award winning photographic image fine artist known for blending surrealism within photographic expressionism. He has visited over 20 countries and has had his work featured in galleries and magazines globally. He is the producer and host of Hawaii Fine Art Radio on KAOI 1110 am and 96.7 fm. Jonathan is a featured artist at Fleetwood's General Store -- Maui. He has worked with Mick Fleetwood for 20 years and has shot the cover art and the CD booklets for Mick's Grammy Nominated album "BLUE AGAIN." Starting in film and handling his own developing he transitioned to digital in the first waves of the new art form and has continued with digital as his primary medium ever since. His subjects include Hawaii & Hawaiian Culture, Nature, Ocean, "Machines,"Micro and Macro "Sensory Inclusionistic Imagery" and "Desolation." Described by critics as, "Moody and Melancholy - Gentle, Deep and Passionate" he has developed a style of photographic art unique to his "warped view of the world we should all live in." Current tools are Leica cameras and occasional iPhone 6 Plus - image stabilized and filtered. About Leica Todd says, "I could not achieve the passion, detail, and control with any other camera. COMPANION TICKET: $5 Whatever ticket you select for the course you can bring ONE person to be with you who does not shoot with the class but is there for your support and companionship. For $5 more get them a ticket abnd bring along a spouse, friend or teenage child. This ticket is non-shooting and non-commenting in the class but they are there with you for all the info and to share the experience! You cannot get this ticket unless you attend with a person purchasing one of the other Participant tickets. GENERAL TICKET - $35 Buy this ticket for each person who will participate and shoot in this class. EARLY BIRD TICKET - $25 Buy this ticket if you sign up early enough to get the special rate and if they are not already sold out. Only a few are available! Act fast to save a bit! VIP EXPERIENCE TICEKT - $90 - Buy this ticket if you have a lot of time and you are passionate about learning to be better at photography. You get the full course but you meet BEFORE that time and go shooting with Jonathan in a group limited to 4 shooters maximum. We walk through key parts of Lahain's Front Street district and get really deep into composition, personal needs, unique locations and items to shoot. Doing this before the class allows deep time for really personal needs, questions and shooting! Bring a companion for $5 and have a lifetime memory!
