For every image you see in a gallery, there is so much work that happens before the shutter is ever pressed.

There are planning conversations, engagement sessions, timeline reviews, location scouting, lighting considerations, and countless details that help ensure your photographs feel effortless when the day finally arrives.

Before your wedding day, I take the time to get to know the two of you as a couple. Through your engagement session, I learn how you naturally interact, what makes you laugh, and how you feel most comfortable in front of the camera. I work closely with your planner and vendor team to understand the flow of your celebration, and I thoughtfully prepare for the locations, lighting, and moments that will matter most.

By the time your wedding day arrives, my goal is for you to feel like you're spending the day with someone you trust rather than someone you've just met.

The result is a photography experience that feels natural, relaxed, and fully focused on preserving the moments that matter most.

If you're planning a wedding in Chicago or beyond and looking for a photographer who values both preparation and genuine connection, I would love to show you what working together looks like from the very beginning.

POV: You're a couple who said you didn't care about photos and you find yourself ordering every print in the collection.

It happens more often than you might think!

Not because you suddenly become obsessed with photography, but because those images become something more than photos.

They become the way you remember your partner reaching for your hand during the ceremony. The look on your parents' faces during the first dance. The laughter you didn't even realize was being documented. The details, emotions, and fleeting moments that felt impossible to hold onto in real time.

When couples tell me they "aren't photo people," what they usually mean is that they don't want their wedding day to feel like a photoshoot. I don't want that either!

My goal is to create photographs that feel like memories. The kind you want to frame, revisit, and someday pass down because they remind you not just what your wedding looked like, but exactly how it felt.

And that's often why the couples who thought they didn't care about photos end up wanting every single one. Let's talk about your wedding photo and album today!

The engagement feels long until suddenly it is not!

One of the biggest misconceptions couples have is that they can wait to book their photographer. Then, before they know it, their wedding date is approaching and the photographers they've been following for months are already booked.

Your wedding photographer is one of the few vendors who will be with you throughout nearly every part of your wedding day. From helping you feel comfortable during your engagement session to documenting the moments you'll revisit for decades, it's a relationship worth taking the time to find the right fit for.

If you've found a photographer whose work speaks to you, don't wait too long to reach out. Popular dates, especially spring and fall weekends, tend to fill much faster than most couples expect.

If you're planning a Chicago-area wedding in 2027, now is a wonderful time to begin the conversation. The sooner you book, the more time we'll have to get to know one another, plan your engagement session, and create a photography experience that feels effortless from start to finish.

To the dads who walk their children down the aisle, straighten ties, give heartfelt toasts, wipe away tears when nobody is looking, and somehow manage to be both a steady presence and an emotional mess all at once...

Happy Father's Day!

The setup vs. the experience. I like to capture both!

The florals, the tablescape, the invitation suite, the candlelight, and the countless thoughtful choices that come together to create your wedding day all deserve to be documented.

But the most meaningful photographs are rarely just about the setup.

They're about the way your guests react when they see the reception space for the first time. The conversations that happen around the table. The laughter during toasts. The happy tears. The hugs. The way the room feels once it's filled with the people you love most.

My goal is to document not only how your wedding day looked, but how it was experienced.

Because years from now, you'll want to remember more than the details you chose. You'll want to remember the people who gathered around them and the memories that were made because of them.

That's where the story truly lives.

I have a secret for you that we don't often talk about here on social media. 🤫

Not every wedding you see on Instagram is a realistic comparison point, and that is actually great news. Your wedding does not need to look like anyone else's. The best ones feel like the two people getting married...and that goes beyond trends.

If you are planning a wedding in the Lake Forest or Chicago area and want your wedding album to feel genuinely like you, we would love to hear your vision.

What happens if it rains? What happens if a vendor is late? What happens if the timeline runs long? These are the questions couples lie awake thinking about, and they are exactly the questions I am prepared to handle as your photographer!

Whether it's been fitting a family tree of portraits into an overrun timeline, or capturing a walk down the aisle with an umbrella in tow, I am prepared to adapt and capture your experience as it unfolds beautifully.

If you are planning a wedding in Lake Forest and the Chicago area and want someone in your corner who has photographed through it all, we would love to hear from you.

One of the greatest compliments a photographer can receive has very little to do with photography.

It's hearing that a couple felt comfortable.

Most people step in front of the camera feeling at least a little nervous. They worry about how they'll look, what they'll do with their hands, or whether they'll feel awkward being photographed.

My goal is to take those worries off your shoulders.

From our first conversation to your engagement session and wedding day, I guide you every step of the way so that you can focus less on the camera and more on the people and moments that matter most.

Receiving reviews like this is a reminder that the experience is just as important as the images themselves. 🤍

Your guests will not remember the centerpiece dimensions or the exact shade of your florals. They will remember how the room felt, how the food tasted, how the music made them want to stay on the dance floor longer than they planned.

And as your photographer, that's what I get to capture! The moments between portraits are my favorite to shoot, and often my couple's favorites to look back on.

If you are planning a wedding in the Chicago area and want to look back on your photos regularly, let's connect!

When couples think about professional photos, engagement sessions and wedding days usually come to mind first.

But what about the honeymoon?

A honeymoon session gives you the chance to document a completely different season of your story. The timeline has slowed down, the planning is behind you, and there is no schedule to follow. Instead, you're exploring somewhere new, soaking in the experience together, and creating memories that deserve to be preserved just as much as your wedding day.

Years from now, you'll be grateful to have photographs of not just the day you said "I do," but the adventure that followed.

Planning a honeymoon and wondering if a photo session is worth it? The answer is almost always yes!
