I’ve had a few comments and messages questioning why I charge for model calls, so I wanted to explain..

Photography is not just my hobby, it’s my JOB and my source of income. Like many small business owners, summer can sometimes be an incredibly slow season for bookings. When my calendar isn’t filling up with regular sessions, I often create model calls to keep creating, stay inspired, build new portfolio content, and bring fresh ideas to life.

While model calls are discounted from my regular pricing, they are still paid sessions because my time, equipment, editing, travel, and experience all go into them just like any other session.

A model call isn’t simply “free photos.” It’s a collaboration where I’m looking for specific people, outfits, locations, or concepts to help bring a creative vision to life. In return, participants receive beautiful professional images at a reduced rate.

As a small business owner, I have to ensure I’m still able to support my family and keep my business running, even during slower seasons. Charging for model calls allows me to continue creating while also respecting the value of the work I provide.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support my small business, book sessions, share my work, and encourage me through the slow seasons. It means more than you know. ❤️
