Rented a camera for a few days during a work trip. Photographing landscapes is not my number one interest. But while hiking along the cacti just made for some nice foreground. A lot of the area was very green. Nice change from the normal brown of Southern California. Unfortunately got out a little later than expected to and didn’t get to all of my favorite spots.

Facing the correct direction helps. Missed an opportunity to get a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch photo because I thought the launch would occur from a different location and was facing about 90 degrees from the actual launch. This photo does capture the rocket headed to space over the Atlantic Ocean. It is time to start planning the next trip around launch dates.

A little dry suit action in August. Andrew and Allison are set for some upcoming cold water diving as newly drysuit divers. It was a bit warm gearing up today but let us explore some of the cooler temperature areas of Fantasy Lake with everyone else in the shallow warmer area.

Something people get confused when I tell them there are deer in my backyard, driveway, etc, because I live at the beach. The town has done well to maintain a lot of vegetation on properties along with the public parks. This gives a healthy ecosystem of deer to survive on the island. Tonight I walked out and caught a momma and her babies grazing in the backyard. Here is one of the two posing for a nice portrait.
