Leah Gunn Emerick, owner and magic-maker behind LGEmerick Photography, has always had a creative bend. The drama my brave beauties have been bringing in studio lately is R E A L.

I think the thing I truly love about my glam sessions is the permission is gives my subjects to truly be divas for a day.

They get to have their hair and makeup professional done, wear beautiful dresses, jewelry, and heels, and be posed in ways that flatter their body.

It's incredible to have the trust of the woman in front of my camera. These three beauties were game for anything. I had the best time creating this art for them!

My fave thing about these images is how strong they all look without losing a single ounce of femininity.

If you have ever contacted my business and wondered why it takes me up to a day or two to respond to you, it's because I don't use AI.

It's because I value our interaction so much that I will never rely on a robot to give you the attention you deserve.

You are not just a number on a spreadsheet.
You are not just data
You are a person and you deserve to be treated with dignity and individualized attention.

The work I do as a portrait photographer is incredibly personal.
I don't agree to work with everyone that contacts me.
Not everyone who contacts me wants to work with me.

A big part of what decides that is having conversations that matter.
Imagine your wedding day where there is a photographer there that constantly harshes your vibe

Not on purpose
But just because there wasn't purposeful communication before the day.

Or imagine getting a branding shoot from someone who you've never talked to and doesn't understand what you're trying to accomplish other than some AI generated form.

That isn't good customer service.
That isn't going to produce excellent results.
That is mass marketing.

That is trying to fit so many people into your calendar that you cannot possibly have a good understanding of what they truly want.

Chatbots and AI responses will try to tell you that you are only worth a prefabricated message .

You won't find that here.
I respond to all of my inquiries personally.
Because I believe you are worth that.

I think basic human connection and kindness should be the baseline for all business operations and I stand behind that in how I run my photo studios.

So I may not be the fastest draw in the west, but I will always be the realest.

I felt so inspired photographing her in this piece. She literally brought such life to it.

Recently I had this beauty in my studio because she needed a 'me' day.

She'd had a tough few years with life just being a lot (anyone relate?). During that time, she'd found a lot of comfort in reading. Now she's coming out on the other side stronger and ready to celebrate!

So she came to me with an idea of showing off some of the books that meant the most to her, but wasn't quite sure how to do that.

That got me thinking... why not a little bit of everything?

We did it all: from cool book nerd (totally channeling Seventeen magazine vibes), to soft romantic heroine (Anne of Green Gables, anyone?), to world conquering main character.

It was such a blast celebrating this woman by creating portraits that showed off so many different sides of what makes her special.
