As you all know very well, these lands were originally populated by indigenous tribes, the true Native Americans. populated the area surrounding the Occoquan River long before the first English settlers arrived. It was the Dogue tribe who gave the Occoquan its name, meaning “at the end of the water.” Then, suddenly, around the year 1681, the Dogue tribe disappeared.
Como todos ya deben saber muy bien, estas tierras fueron originalmente pobladas por grupos aborigenes, los verdaderos nativos americanos. Poblaron el área que rodea el río Occoquan mucho antes de que llegaran los primeros colonos ingleses. Fue la tribu Dogo quien le dio a Occoquan su nombre, que significa "al final del agua". Entonces, de repente, alrededor del año 1681, la tribu Dogo desapareció.

That day it was about to rain. The sky was overcast and only a few sun rays made it through the dense gray clouds. I had a pinhole camera, with Panchromatic medium format film, and a 35mm camera. A photography group from Fredericksburg turned up to take street photos and I joined them. Then the rain fell, blocking the light more, but not the hope of getting a good shot.
Ese dia estaba por llover. El cielo estaba nublado y apenas algunos rayos de sol pasaban por las densas nubes grises. Yo tenia una camara Pin hole, con una pelicula de medio formato Panchromatic, y una camara 35mm. Un grupo de fotografía de Fredericksburg se ruenió a tomar fotos de calle y me uní a ellos. Luego la lluvia cayó, apartando mas la luz, pero no la esperanza de conseguir una buena toma.

Near where I live there is a small park with a small tributary that flows into the Potomac River and then into the Atlantic Ocean. It's a nice area. also of a monotonous and bitonal flora, even more in cold times. In this essay I wanted to portray the area with an infrared filter. That way I did get more contrasts and different ways of interpreting color and light density.
Cerca de donde vivo hay un pequeño parque con un pequeño afluente que da al rio Potomac y luego al mar Atlántico. Es una zona bonita. tambien de una flora monotona y bitonal, aun mas en epocas frias. En este ensayo queria retratar la zona con un filtro infra-rojo. De esa forma si conseguí mas contrastes y formas diferentes de interpretar el color y la densidad de luz.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

I was looking for a fashion photo session that was consistent with the architecture of the place, mixing it with the urban environments of Washington DC... 2021..luego realizamos las fotos de medio formato con pelicula. La sesion fue estupenda porque la modelo entendió toda mi direccion muy bien. Yo buscaba una sesion de fotos fashion que estuviese acorde a la arquitectura del lugar, mezclandola con los ambientes citadinos de Washington DC... 2021.

When I walked through the center of Buenos Aires, it was obvious that I wanted to listen to Tango and see a couple of dances. In a restaurant and tavern, just after the Presidential Pink House, there were two women and a man. The construction is like from the 40s, the wooden floor, and high floors. It was also difficult to take the photo because I had a medium format camera with ASA 80 film! I wanted to use that roll inside with that little light. At least the memory remains...
Cuando caminaba por el centro de Buenos Aires, era obvio que queria escuchar Tango y ver bailar alguna pareja. En un restaurant y taberna, justo luego de la Casa Rosada Presidencial, estaban dos mujeres y un hombre bailando. La contruccion es como de los años 40, el piso de madera, pisos altos. Tambien fue complicado hacer la foto pues tenia una camara medio formato con una pelicula de ASA 80!, yo queria usar ese rollo adentro con esa poca luz. Al menos quedo el recuerdo. 2018

In the big city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, the metro works very well and takes you throughout the city. It also has stations that are very new and clean. The old area is more neglected. This is the subway exit to the República area, which is in the center of the city. This neighborhood is very busy throughout the week. This is where I started to take more street photos. This medium format photo was complicated because I had a very low-sensitivity film, and I had to stay very relaxed so as not to move the camera. 2017
En la gran ciudad de Sao Paulo, Brazil, el metro funciona muy bien y te lleva a lo largo de la ciudad. ademas tiene estaciones que estan muy nuevas y limpias. La zona vieja si esta mas descuidada. Esta es la salida del metro al area de República, que queda en el centro de la ciudad. Este barrio es muy transitado en toda la semana. Aqui fue donde comence hacer mas fotos de calle. Esta foto de medio formato fue complicada por que tenia una pelicula de sensibilidad muy baja, debia quedarme muy relajado para no mover la camara. 2017⁣⁣⁣⁣

..walking into the memorial honoring Lincoln and his work, I really felt the weight of his deeds. You feel a kind of inspiration when you mix a bit of his history and when you see the height of the room. The echo bounces strongly, forcing people to lower their voices, and creating an air of respect and honor in the environment. You understand why men like Luther King raise their voices in his presence.....entrando al monumento conmemorativo en honor a Lincoln y su obra, sentí realmente el peso de sus actos. Sientes una especie inspiracion cuando mezclas un poco de su historia y cuando ves la altura de la sala. El eco rebota fuertemente, obligando a la gente a bajar su voz, generando el ambiente un aire de respeto y honorabilidad. Entiendes porque hombres como Luther King alzan su voz en su presencia...
