As I’ve been out of the photography saddle for a little bit, I gave myself a practice day for my wonderful client Luckie Farms. The staff was so helpful and patient as I took time getting the lay of the land. Turns out my 15+ years of experience, including many mistakes served me well in lowering my expectations on a pregnant body and very ambitious idea which literally turned into a bit of a p**p show🤣 not a bit, tbh it was a very decently proportioned splatter.
My speedlights died forever, they decided they have had a good run. One light wouldn’t turn on even with batteries. The other lights fired about one out of every 10 times even with a minute to recycle. The third light decided it wanted to be off spontaneously. Sam the donkey did not like the lighting set up. He would not accept a snack and he’s apparently the chillest one on the farm. After everything else going awry, I finally called it quits when he stepped on my toe 😂 going to troubleshoot, recalibrate and head back out in a couple weeks.
Everything is practice and I’m aiming for excellence not perfection. Genuinely had a good day and felt so blessed to be there. This kind of day would have made me a nervous wreck and eaten my lunch in the past. I think I’m too pregnant to be anxious😁🧜🏼♀️💃🏻😌
