This week I was reminded again why my job as a photographer is so very important. This week we lost our beautiful golden retriever, Riley. She was 14 years old and had just been diagnosed with cancer for the 2nd time, this time with osteosarcoma. With this newest diagnosis last month, we decided that we were going to fill her last months with all the adventures we could. Sadly, we just lost our other dog, Bailey, only 2 months ago, also from cancer. She was only 11. These 2 were probably the most photographed dogs on the planet. I literally have thousands of pictures of each of them.

Last month we took Riley on a beach getaway weekend. I brought my work camera with me and decided to get up early one morning and do a beach photoshoot with our girl. We had friends with us at the beach house, and they were kind enough to get up at 6am with us to take photos of my wife and I with Riley. Then my wife and I took turns taking photos of each other with our pup. I hadn't really planned on doing this so we just wore casual outfits we brought with us. The gnats were in FULL force and it was super humid, so my lens fogged really badly. We had some rude old lady stop and scold us for having a dog on the beach. When we told her that Riley had cancer and we were trying to do one last photoshoot her reply was, "my cat just died". Some people just need to not talk, but whatever. All this to say that the situation wasn't ideal but we pressed forward.

Anyway, we had an absolutely beautiful sunrise, and our sweet girl got to stick her toes in the ocean, which was one of her favorite things.

I'm sharing this because I'm so thankful that we took these photos. Do I wish I was 20lbs lighter? yes. Do I wish I had a better outfit? yes. Do I wish my lens hadn't fogged up? yes. Do I wish I had done my makeup and hair? yes. But these photos make my heart fill with love. Our girl was so happy to be with us and to be the star of the show.

So, no matter what your objections might be, take the photos. Whether it's your weight, your outfits, your backdrop, or your schedule....those things seem miniscule when you have a beautiful memory and photo to survive on when things feel dark.

Don't wait and live with regret by wishing you had taken the photos. When the photos are all you have left, you'll be thankful you took them.

Last week, we set up this gorgeous flower backdrop at the Women's Chamber of Commerce PBC EqualiTEA event. The ladies had so much fun taking fun photos! The result was a gorgeous gallery of images that act as both a keepsake and marketing material!

This past week I photographed the Women's Chamber of Commerce PBC's 3rd annual EqualiTEA at The Ben, Autograph Collection.
The room was filled with outstanding women in their prettiest tea outfits and hats! Guests got to strike a pose at the step and repeat backdrop, bid on some very cool silent auction items, check out the installation of historical stories set up the by the Historical Society, and meet some vendors and sponsors tables. I also set up the Coastal Click Photobooth for some fun photos that were texted directly to each participant.
Emceed by Angel Manfredi, screenwriter and author, the event brought together a panel of true leaders in the realm of women who fought for the right to vote.
The energy, conversations, and connections were truly remarkable. The panel featured
~Wendy Sartory Link – Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office.
~Erica Grant – Director of Curatorial Affairs, Historical Society of Palm Beach County
~Dr. Cassondra Corbin-Thaddies (“Dr. Cass”) – League of Women Voters of Palm Beach County, Florida

Congrats to the Women's Chamber on a beautiful and meaningful event!

This week I had the pleasure of photographing the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Broward Walk Kickoff Pink Party. It was held at War Memorial Auditorium, a venue I haven't actually been in before. It was beautifully decorated for this pink party! Seacoast Bank was a major sponsor for the evening and they brought fun decor and a huge team from their bank. Over 300 attendees showed up to kick of the walk season. It was awesome!
Guests enjoyed a cocktail party, photo ops, an inspiring story from a survivor, a best-dressed contest, and they gave away their WWF inspired belt to last year's Men Wear Pink top fundraiser. It was a truly magical evening! If you want to check out the event photos visit their link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/acssefl/albums/72177720335379510/
This year's walk is estimated to be about 30,000 people!!! OMG! I'm super excited to be the official photographer for this HUGE event for the 2nd year! My team and I are preparing to capture all the fun! It's not too late to start a walk team either! Visit their site to register as an individual or a team. The energy last year was OFF THE CHARTS. You don't want to miss it! https://secure.acsevents.org/site/STR?pg=entry&fr_id=112388

You know what I really want to do?
1. Just take photos
2. Have happy clients
3. Enjoy life

You know what I really hate doing?
1. Spending years honing my craft, developing clientele, and growing my business only to have other people try to cash in on it.
2. Paying a lot of money and spending a lot of time to trademark Coastal Click only to have a bunch of people try to use the name illegally.
3. Sending professional and legal cease and desist letters only to be met with resistance, anger, and excuses.
4. Having to follow up multiple times because people ignore the messages, have no legitimate address, and don't care about other people's time and efforts.
5. Wasting hours of time chasing people down because they don't do the right thing.

Businesses all over the US trademark their businesses and it's important to do your due diligence and follow trademark rules. It doesn't matter how big or small the business is. For small-business owners, trademark protection can:

✨ Establish clear ownership of your brand
✨ Help prevent customer confusion
✨ Protect your professional reputation
✨ Add long-term value to your business
✨ Give you stronger legal options if someone copies or misuses your name

Building a recognizable brand takes years of dedication. Protecting it isn’t just paperwork—it’s an investment in your business and its future.

I'm not being rude or mean when I'm sending messages to these businesses, so it's quite shocking to be met with so much resistance. Just stop using my name! Coastal Click is MINE!
