Here's another one from Arbuckle Creek. This was actually the first photograph I took of the creek back when I got my kayak in 2020. This was my first and is still my favorite photo of the creek.

C**t Creek Cypress Forest:

Here's a photograph I took a couple of summers ago during a particularly rainy summer season. The first time I stumbled upon this area, it was dry as a bone, but I knew I would have to come back and photograph it when there was water. After a good couple of months of rain, the creek finally overflowed its banks and flooded the forest, making for beautiful photographs. I wandered the area for a while looking for a composition before I settled on this one. The one thing I absolutely love about this photograph is how you can see how high the water has gotten before just by looking at the trees.

Myakka Rains:

Another one from the archives! I believe I took this photo almost 8 years ago now. I had recently gotten a new 6-stop ND filter, and I was itching to test it out. I figured with it being the height of summer, Myakka River State Park would be a good place to try it out. As I was driving along, I noticed a storm beginning to brew in the distance. I pulled over when I found a clearing and took this shot. I love how the ND filter smoothed out the clouds, creating beautiful swirling patterns in the sky. I managed to get a couple of shots before the rains began.

Fishing Cypress:

Another one for the Arbuckle Creek Portfolio. This was a fun photo to make. After I had set up my camera to take the photo, I lost the light. Luckily! I had packed my fishing pole to help pass the time. Standing waist deep in the creek, I simply threw my bait next to the cypress tree in the photo and BAM! Just like that, I caught 6 largemouth bass one after the other. I caught so many, I decided to call this photo Fishing Cypress.

Spring Boils, Ocala FL:

Happy Labor day everyone!

Decided to dust this one off from the archives. I took this photograph about six years ago. Spring boils have always fascinated me. The way cool, crystal clear water just seems to emanate from seemingly nowhere. Our springs are truly one of the most Beautiful and unique features of our state.

Arbuckle Creek Pond Apple Tree:

Recently, I've found myself going back again and again to Arbuckle Creek. It's such a unique body of water in central Florida. The creek is lined with ancient cypress trees, strangler figs, and even swamp apple trees, which are extremely rare to find this far north. I've fallen in love with this Creek so much that I have decided to do an entire photographic series of Arbuckle Creek using black and white large format film. Hopefully, when it's all said and done, I will put all the images together into a Photography Book.

Storm Over Big Cypress 2:

It was Nice to see consistent thunderstorms in Big Cypress this year. The last few times I went there was so much Saharan dust in the sky, everything was milky white, and the air was so dry the storms just couldn't form.

End of the Line:

Went to Bahia Honda State Park on my trip to the FL Keys recently. I learned a lot about the Flaglers Overseas Railway and got a very nice picture of the original Rail Bridge.

Big Cypress Storms :

Finally got out to photograph in Big Cypress this year; the weather was perfect, the sky was filled with beautiful clouds, and there were enough Mosquitoes to completely drain you of all your blood if you stood in one place too long.
