One is out cold. One is very much not. This little gator hatchling claimed the top bunk, planted its tiny clawed hand right on its sibling's head, and stared into the void like it was reconsidering every life decision. Baby alligators are proof that sibling energy is universal. 😂🐊

Golden morning light, an old oak dripping in moss, and this barred owl holding perfectly still — a quiet moment in the swamp that felt like a gift. 🦉

Somebody had a little too much fun in the cherry tree! 🐻🍒 This tiny cub came down with his tongue out — pure joy, zero grace. One of my favorite candid moments from the Smokies this season.

One of three cubs I watched climb this cherry tree in Cades Cove — mama kept a close eye from below while her trio worked their way up for the ripest fruit. Cherry season means dinner is served, black bear style. 🐻🍒

I’m thrilled to share that a print of “Aerial Architect” found a new home this week with a collector who has a special love for bald eagles. This shot captures the moment perfectly: a proud eagle father hauling in fresh nesting materials to renovate the family home, just as a tiny eaglet had entered the world.

Moments like these are why I love what I do! If you’d like to see more of my work or find a piece that speaks to you, visit heatherearlphotography.com and add something wild and beautiful to your own collection. 🦅

No hesitation, no second-guessing — just beak-first commitment. This snowy egret was completely locked in on lunch, neck stretched to its limit and head submerged, balanced on a log like it had absolutely nothing to lose. And below? A perfect mirror image captured the whole determined performance. The dedication is honestly inspiring. 🎣

Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸 This little sandhill crane c**t wasn't waiting for anyone today — strutting solo down the trail, fully independent, and completely unbothered. Sometimes the best way to celebrate freedom is to just walk your own path. 🐦 From my Florida backyard to yours, wishing you a safe and happy Independence Day.

Caught looking! 👀 This barred owl tucked itself behind a moss-draped oak at Circle B Bar Reserve, peeking out just long enough for one frame before melting back into the shadows.

When art meets purpose, something beautiful happens — twice.

I’m so excited to share that my photograph “Aerial Architect” — a bald eagle captured mid-build, bringing in nesting material with that quiet, focused determination only eagles seem to pull off — was donated to the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Central Florida Chapter and it raised more than $1,200 for workplace safety scholarships!

The winning ticket was drawn at the recent Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Central Florida Safety Champions Conference, and the winner, John Lucarelli, has chosen to display “Aerial Architect” at Alpha-Omega Training and Compliance, Inc. I love knowing that image has found a home in a workplace — a daily reminder of the focus, precision, and commitment that the best safety professionals bring to their work every single day.

To the ASSP Central Florida Chapter — thank you for championing the next generation of safety professionals. To Timothy Holland Bernardi — thank you for hatching this amazing idea and taking our “Aerial Architect” all around the state to promote the raffle. To John — congratulations, and I hope that this eagle inspires you every time you walk past it.
