"A little romantic, mournful, and slightly haunted." 🌊🖤

My newest original piece was inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s Annabel Lee—bringing together layered acrylics, delicate tea bag paper, and subtle fragments of the poem emerging through the deep violet and sky textures.

Here is a quick look at pulling a multi-layer painted, mirrored laser transfer onto wet-strengthened teabag paper! Masking the faces and hands preserved crisp black details, while the unmasked background allowed the turquoise text and gold accents to interact directly with the paint. 👇

What does creativity actually look like? 🎨

This mixed media piece shows what it feels like inside my head — ideas about art, science, family, faith, imagination, and everyday life all happening at once.

Made with watercolor, ink, graphite, colored pencil, and acrylic paint marker — then brought to life with AI animation.
If you enjoy creative projects and artistic experiments, you're in the right place.

What if your everyday life was already worth drawing?

I just finished Draw Your Day by Samantha Dion Baker, and it’s a powerful reminder that art doesn’t have to be big, perfect, or time-consuming.

The idea is simple: notice your day. Draw small moments. Let creativity fit into real life.

What really stood out to me is how the book is filled with real sketch journal pages—honest, imperfect, and deeply inspiring. It’s the kind of book that makes you want to pick up a pen today, not someday.

🎨 At Day-Storms Studio, we believe creativity lives in ordinary moments.

💬 I’m curious—what’s one small moment from today you could imagine drawing?
