I’m openly terrified and overwhelmed by the state our “my way or the highway” world today. We’ve demonized people into monsters simply for their choice of partner. What are we doing? Are we losing our humanity?

This image, featuring model , is inspired by photographer Francesco Scavullo’s 1972 groundbreaking photograph of actor Burt Reynolds modeling n**e in Cosmo. That male n**e was a first in mainstream media. Breathtaking, fun, non-judgmental and hairy, lol. 

So for me, this piece is about celebrating our LGTBQ+ friends and not turning them into demons. Stay fabulous, my friends.

So when a local makeup/special effects social influencer reached out to me to book a shoot, I was stoked. You know I love a good prosthetic + fake blood + colorful makeup - all the things.

We collab’d a little before the shoot so I could brainstorm scenery and backdrops and lighting, as well as possible props. Still, little did I know what was in store when arrived! I learned so much from her application and prosthetics creation and processes, and I loved her vision for the shoot. Also, this was her first professional photo shoot EVER - above or below land!!
