I specialize in headshots, product, commercial and travel photography with an eye for detail and a quick turn around time. He built his reputation and initial portfolio on action sports photography and has worked with youth, collegiate, and professional leagues. His action sports work has been featured in the USL, EPL, NBC Sports, and the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Over the past few years, his lens

has been primarily focused on travel, tourism, commercial, and portrait and headshot work. Not everything translates into a beautiful image with a traditional aesthetic – and James doesn’t shy away from those shots. Sometimes a unique perspective or detail creates a more powerful picture. Those are the photos that are worth waiting to capture. Many of these powerful, unique images have been published and shared in print, web, and social media platforms. We braved a chilly, windy morning at Maymont Park to pull off a quick in-and-out shoot with just a couple of outfit changes.

This was shot on the Nikon Z8 paired with the Profoto A10 for just the right pop of light—clean, simple, and efficient.

This year, while photographing the Gala, I decided to use my Hasselblad X2D for two images to ensure I captured the feel of the intimacy and colors of this unique setup.
