A 48 minute educational story describing the life of Kit Carson, beginning with his Ulster-Irish roots, our family’s ancestral relationship to him, and his contribution to Manifest Destiny shaping the United States of America we know today.

Following in the footsteps and spirit of my grandmother, Ellen Cleo “Dolly” Hill and my father Kenneth Hill, I have spent the majority of my adult life learning about Kit. It includes his relationships with family, friends, fellow trappers, traders, employers, and plains Native American Indians. I spent all of 2017 developing this project!

Among his peers, he was respected by all, feared by some and appreciated by most through his contributions! I professionally narrate, utilized the musical talents of Rex Rideout and Eric “Many Winds” Herrera, and produced images relevant to the storyline.

A 15 minute ballad (song), professionally recorded at Joe Hall, Career Education Center, Denver, CO, about Kit Carson, narrating a storyline about his personality and attributes, his impact as a teamster, mountain man, employer, hunter, guide, Indian Agent, husband and father, along with a stirring reenactment of his honorable military funeral. I narrate; my friends and acquaintances Joe Hall, Spencer Crawford and Ron Jolly provided musical accompaniment.

Had a great time showcasing my Kit Carson products and portraying a mountain man at the 2017 Tesoro Cultural Center 1830's Rendezvous. Here is a photo of me with two special friends, John M. The event was one of the greatest highlights of my life, spending quality time with participants and patrons, as we celebrated our shared, common American heritage. Greetings!

I am extending an invitation to you to visit the newly redesigned website www.digitizemellc.net with emphasis on my Kit Carson projects, most recently and specifically, The Life of Kit Carson (The Embodiment of American Expansionism). I am not pushing anyone to respond or to purchase anything, rather to inform you of the availability of my projects if you are so inclined.

For family members of Walter and Ellen “Dolly” Hill, Kit Carson is an ancestral relative. Dolly’s mother was a Carson, in the lineage of Alexander Harvey Carson, and claimed she was Kit’s niece. My research confirms the connection. Essentially following in Grandmother’s and Dad’s footsteps, I have committed decades collecting material, conducting research and reading many books and articles about his extraordinary life. Without any intention to do so on his part, Kit impacted the lives of countless Americans (including ours) by guiding expeditions that became a living map for our Nation’s westward expansion; known as Manifest Destiny. While Kit is not to be venerated, I believe we can learn much from his achievements as well as his failures. Though human history forgets about most of us once we have passed, the legacy of selected individuals remain in our collective, public consciousness. Kit is one of those individuals.

My projects have been a labor of love, and part of my legacy, when people enjoy my version of telling Kit’s story in a unique way. Hopefully you will find them educational, entertaining and interesting if you are so inclined to purchase copies of my works. Several organizations devoted to the preservation of 19th century American history are expected to release portions of my projects to the public as well. When sold through their organizations, all profits go to their benefit. The Tesoro Cultural Center in Morrison, Colorado http://www.tesoroculturalcenter.org/ is graciously providing me the opportunity to market my products at their 1830’s Rendezvous reenactment over the weekend of September 16th & 17th 2017. A big thank you goes out to Rex Rideout for offering his unique musical talent and understanding of early American history during a recording session for my upcoming CD & DVD versions of The Life of Kit Carson, The Embodiment of Expansionism. Plans are to have the final versions available prior to the 1830's Rendezvous organized by The Tesoro Cultural Center, Morrison, CO, and will be available for sale at that time and thereafter.
