Green Bee is an idea that I came up with as a child. Growing up, my father/business partner, was an electronic engineer who worked for General Dynamics developing the F-16 and other projects with them. I grew up making model airplanes, and helicopters. Eventually I moved into the RC world with remote control cars and planes. As a kid I always thought it would be amazing if there was a way they cou
ld put a little camera in my RC vehicles so that I could get a first person perspective. 20 years later I got my wish. After college I went to flight school and became a helicopter pilot. I enjoyed this career, but after two near death experiences, due to mechanical failure, I hung it up and moved on. After this I took on a job as the VP of a marketing firm. We were primarily focused on Real Estate, and it was a fun job, but it wasn’t something I was passionate about. I had been following drones through Popular Mechanics and other publications for years, when a client asked about marketing aerial drone photography. It took me about a day or two of research before I put in my two weeks, and went out on my own into the UAV (drone) industry. Green Bee got it’s name after purchasing my first drone. I had wanted to include the word green for two reasons. First of all, using drones saves customers thousands of dollars when compared to traditional aerial photography. Green Bee uses electric drones that don’t use fossil fuels, and are much more quiet and don’t disturb people and wildlife. The Bee part my wife came up with. After one of my first flights, my wife commented how when the drone flies it sounds like a swarm of bees. Hence the name Green Bee. Green Bee started in Portland, Oregon and is now located in Denver, Colorado. We service most areas and do not mind traveling. We have the capability to get our equipment any place that you can think of. Green Bee was amongst the first companies in the United States to get FAA approval with a Section 333 and is fully insured to $2 million dollars. If you are looking for a professional pilot and photographer who knows what he’s doing, contact Green Bee.
