Happy unofficial last day of summer and welcome to the 'ber' months! Spent the morning doing a creek stomping photo session with a family and here is a favorite from a recent photo session at Mount Gretna Lake 😍 I'm so grateful that my job lets me spend time outdoors in such beautiful places.

We are entering the busiest time of year for most photographers so I'm just sending a reminder that gallery turnaround times will be a full 2 weeks. Here's hoping that El Niño doesn't cause too much havoc with the weather this fall. Looking forward to all the families I get to see in front of my lens these next couple of months!

P.S. a reminder that I am fully booked for Sept/Oct aside from week day morning & newborn sessions.

First time photographing newborn twin girls! It was such a treat to meet this family and discover that we have many mutual friends in common. They have the most beautiful, cozy and colorful victorian home out in the country. Every room feels like walking into a carefully curated, thoughtful work of art, and each nook and cranny holds so many unique personal touches. Their little girls get to grow up in the most magical place. My only regret is that I didn’t manage to capture one of their many cats in any photos 😻

Filling my cup with colorful, candid summer photo sessions lately and this downtown Lancaster City family session brought me so much joy!

The kids wanted to incorporate some of their interests, which included skateboarding and drawing. Mom and Dad celebrated their 10th anniversary this year in Japan so it seemed appropriate to take some photos with the ramen mural at Issei Noodle. Ending with ice cream at Splits & Giggles Cafe was the cherry on top!

I hope to hold one set of holiday/Christmas mini sessions end of Nov/early Dec at the Strasburg Railroad. More details coming in September...

I am still booking a few week day morning sessions in Sept/Oct and taking sessions in November and December as well.

I was honored and delighted to do a silhouette photo session for this family of 8. This is probably the first time I've had a family specifically request a photo session entirely of silhouettes!

I love capturing silhouettes and if you want to include one in your session, I'm happy to recommend locations. Important note: you need sun and you need it to be low in the sky in order to create these!

Observing light and color at the beach. Grateful for a week of vacation with family and perfect weather in Fenwick Island, DE as our time comes to a close.

I’ve been thankful for the space to observe, create and appreciate without any specific agenda or to-do list. I finished two rolls of film here as well and can’t wait to see how they turn out!

I know my family often rolls their eyes at me when they see me bringing out the camera again, and I know there are times I need to leave it behind; but I truly find so much joy in documenting the beauty and colors that I see. Life is art ❤️
