||ADHD Pt. 3||
Executive Function Disorder. What ADHD SHOULD really be named... It's at the core of what ADHD really is and in summary means, we lack the certain chemicals in our brains that helps people to do certain everyday, often mundane, tasks. Common labels associated with people with ADHD are lazy, disorganized, and procrastinators. And while these are things that everyone sometimes struggles with, ADHDers can't help BUT to be like this. It sounds like an excuse, doesn't it? Believe me, even I STILL have a hard time believing it. But the struggle is genuinely real. A LOT of ADHDers also struggle with severe anxiety and depression because it's genuinely really hard for us to function like "normal" people. I myself have struggled with depression for a long time because I've been so hard on myself for not being able to function like a "normal" human being. And grasping that there's an actual neurological reason WHY, is both freeing and suffocating. Because its explains my life and why I'm like the way that I am. But, although its something that can be treated, it can't be cured...
(I encourage people who don't know anything about ADHD or Executive Function Disorder to research it a little bit!)
