*** Yesterday in Wyoming***

I always wanted to be the next Ansel Adams. Life had other plans and led me into nursing instead. But somewhere between long shifts, helicopters, small towns, and the chaos of life, I never stopped seeing the world through a lens.

I still chase black and white moments the way he did — the light, the shadows, the quiet stories hidden in ordinary places. Maybe I didn’t become Ansel Adams… but photography still reminds me to slow down long enough to notice the beauty in this wild little life.

And honestly, Wyoming looks pretty damn good in black and white.

I’ve been lacking inspiration lately — not for a lack of places to go or things to photograph, but because sometimes it feels like everything I create starts to look the same. The same mountains, the same roads, the same familiar themes.

So lately I’ve found myself leaving the camera at home more often and just sitting still long enough to notice the subtle changes instead. The way the light shifts across Whiskey Mountain. The clouds that never seem to move the same way twice. The colors that quietly change from one evening to the next.

Maybe inspiration isn’t always about finding somewhere new. Maybe it’s about learning to see the same place differently. Wyoming is always moving, always changing — even when it feels still. And maybe my artwork should do the same

Same mountains just different views and light and color.
