There are certain families I photograph year after year, and getting to watch their stories unfold in front of my camera is something I genuinely appreciate. ♡

Let’s talk about something that matters: sharing your children online.

I have many families who choose not to have photos of their children shared on social media — and I absolutely support that decision.

Here’s my take: **your family photos are YOURS.** You should never feel pressured to allow your photographer to share them.

That’s why I’ve built this conversation directly into my booking process. In your questionnaire, you’ll simply select your sharing preference from the beginning. No awkward conversation. No need to make a special request. No pressure to explain your decision.

You’re in control of what feels right for your family. My job is to create beautiful photographs for *you* — not for my social media feed.

And yes, we can still get creative with a few images that protect your children’s privacy if you’d like. But even that is completely your choice. 🤍

This year’s Heirloom Portrait sessions will be offered on October 3 in Lansing and October 11 in Ann Arbor.

Your session includes one digital image, and you’ll have access to your fully retouched gallery to select and purchase your favorite images and artwork.

You can choose from a classic framed 8x10 portrait, a three-image 12x23 framed piece, or matted heirloom album. Also available for purchase are fine art prints and the full digital gallery.

If you know me, you’ve probably heard me say, “I’m not a wedding photographer.” 😂🤍

BUT… when a family I already know and love — whose little ones I’ve had the privilege of photographing — asks me to capture their wedding day? It’s pretty much guaranteed I’m going to say yes.

And apparently beach weddings are becoming my thing, because I officially have another one on the calendar for next spring… with, you guessed it, another family I know and love.

While I don’t offer traditional wedding packages, I do offer hourly coverage for smaller, intimate celebrations when it feels like the right fit.

There’s something extra special about getting to photograph another chapter in a family’s story — especially with Lake Michigan in the background. 🤍

One last little pop of summer color before we officially transition to sweater weather, golden grasses and falling leaves.

These lavender fields already feel like a different season — which is exactly why I love looking back at them.

Michigan moves us through the seasons so quickly, and somehow each one gives us something completely different to remember.
