This was an amazing event hosted by RGISC (Rio Grande International Study Center). Laredo, TX was chosen out of 14 cities in Texas to be part of a prestigious research and study program using special sensors from The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). These sensors will help us map out areas of Laredo where it is particularly hot. Once this data is collected, we will be able to use it to secure federal funds to provide everyone with more shade and potentially more cooling centers. Everything went incredibly well and according to plan. The collaboration and the cutting-edge technology used made this event truly memorable. We are excited about the valuable insights and data that will come from this project and look forward to more opportunities like this in the future!
