We filmed this 10 years ago and put together a first cut shortly after, but for several reasons, the project ended up being put on ice. Now, after all these years, it’s finally seeing the light of day.

THE MALFUNCTION II: THE REBOOT premieres LIVE on YouTube tonight at 6:00 PM!

The premiere will stream live for 90 minutes, and once it’s over, the film will be available to watch on demand anytime.

This release is something special to us. While this isn’t a new film, it is the first time the world gets to see it since its original public premiere back in 2004. Outside of that single screening over two decades ago, it has never been publicly available.

One of our biggest hopes is that someday the original THE MALFUNCTION is found so it can receive the same remaster treatment and finally be shared with everyone as well.

Although THE MALFUNCTION II wasn’t full blown D-Man Studios production it remains one of the earliest projects we were involved in and is proudly considered part of the studio’s filmmaking history. It’s amazing to revisit a project created more than 20 years ago and preserve it for a new generation.

This is a remaster, not a remake. The goal was to preserve the original film as faithfully as possible. The only additions are brand-new opening and closing credits, an updated musical score, enhanced sound effects, and minor picture restoration. The story, performances, editing, and everything else remain exactly as audiences experienced it in 2004.

We hope you enjoy this rare look back at one of the earliest chapters in our filmmaking journey.
