You have a plan. You get everything you need to birth your baby safely at home. Your husband supports you and you interview and find a provider and doula that you love. You start to have contractions a couple weeks earlier than expected and the plans start to change.
You develop a new plan. Your team helps gather everything you need to transfer to the hospital to ensure everyone's safety. Your provider and doula are there every step of the way. Your husband holds you in his arms through every wave and never leaves your side.
You birth your beautiful baby girl in the water at the hospital without intervention right into your own hands. Your husband and birth team help you to your bed as the hospital staff flood into the room. You preserve the golden hour. Your husband is so in love with you and your precious baby girl.
Birth is unpredictable. You can plan and have everything in place, but the greatest gift you can give yourself is hiring a birth team you trust that will support you and shift gears right along side of you, while still pursuing as much of your desires for your birth as you can.
Beautiful, unmedicated, hospital births can happen. It does not matter so much where you give birth, as who is supporting you. Take the time to find the right provider for you and your family. I promise you will be glad you did, especially when plans change.
