This year, my creativity and energy have shifted. Instead of traveling and capturing the world around me, I have been at home, creating in a different way. All of my energy has been spent on making a new life: the life of my daughter, who we will meet in December.

I have had the idea for these self portraits for a long time, even before I became pregnant. Although, I have never used studio equipment before, I am so happy with how they turned out. I have a lot to learn about this type of photography and it will definitely be something I explore in the future.

The Geminid Meteor Shower in Death Valley National Park.

Last week, I took another solo trip to Death Valley to capture the Geminid meteor shower at it’s peak on December 13-14. At this time, up to 100 meteors per hour can be seen!

This is a composite of 12 photos I took over a 3 hour timeframe.

This past Saturday, I did a solo mission to Death Valley to witness the rare flooding of Badwater Basin. This was my first time to the national park and won’t be the last.
