So, how is the food on Sun Princess?

Many of you have been asking, so let’s talk food.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ve probably heard me say that while I’m very loyal to Royal Caribbean, I feel the food quality has gradually declined over the years. After spending several days onboard the Sun Princess, I can honestly say Princess is taking things to another level.

This ship is huge, and it feels like there’s food around every corner. Between the main dining rooms, buffet, casual eateries, cafés, pizza stations, specialty restaurants, gelato, and grab-and-go options, there’s always something different to try.

Tonight’s dinner was excellent from start to finish. I started with a refreshing shrimp cocktail, followed by some perfectly crispy fried mushrooms with a creamy dipping sauce. For the main course, I had slow-roasted beef with vegetables and gravy, juicy, and full of flavor.

What stands out isn’t just one meal—it’s the consistency. The variety is impressive, the ingredients taste fresh, and the presentation is beautiful. Whether you’re craving steak, seafood, Italian, Asian, pizza, burgers, pastries, or desserts, you’ll find plenty of options onboard.

This is what cruising used to feel like: diverse, tasty, fun, and full of choices.

So far, Sun Princess is delivering one of the best dining experiences I’ve had at sea. More reviews, photos, and videos coming soon as I continue exploring the ship over the next three weeks.

The Dome during the day is a completely different experience from what you see at night.

By day, it feels less like a theater and more like a futuristic glass sanctuary at sea. Sunlight pours through the massive curved glass structure, creating an ever-changing pattern of light and shadows across the deck. The turquoise loungers, the warm wood flooring, and the panoramic ocean views blend together to create an atmosphere that is both elegant and relaxing.

What impresses me most is the scale. Photos don’t really capture how enormous this space feels when you’re standing inside it. The glass canopy stretches high above, giving the sensation of being outdoors while still enjoying the comfort of a climate-controlled venue. Whether guests are swimming, relaxing with a drink, or simply watching the sea roll by, The Dome feels like the heart of the ship.

At night, it transforms into an entertainment venue. During the day, it’s one of the most beautiful places onboard to simply sit back, relax, and watch the world sail by.

Santorini. Just us and the volcano.

One of the biggest surprises of the trip so far was arriving in Santorini and discovering that we were the only cruise ship in port. Usually, 4 or 5 ships can be anchored here at the same time, turning the island into a very busy place. Today, however, it felt like we had Santorini almost entirely to ourselves.

From the cliffs above Fira, the view of the Sun Princess anchored in the caldera was simply spectacular. Blue skies, calm seas, and one of the most famous views in the world without the usual crowds. It completely changed the atmosphere and the experience.

As for the Sun Princess, I know many of you have been asking for my thoughts. I’m only partway through this 3-week voyage, so I’m still taking notes, photos, and putting the pieces together before sharing my full review.

Let’s just say this ship has given me plenty to think about.

Some observations have been exactly what I expected.

Others… not at all.

The full review is coming soon, and I have a feeling it might spark some interesting conversations.

Reporting Live from Bar Montenegro 🇲🇪

Today I’m exploring the impressive Old Fortress of Bar, one of the oldest settlements in the Balkans. Perched on a hillside overlooking the Adriatic coast, this ancient city has witnessed Roman, Byzantine, Venetian, and Ottoman rule over the centuries.

Walking through these stone streets feels like stepping back in time. Around every corner are ruins, churches, aqueducts, and stories dating back more than 2,000 years.

🚢 A New Legend Has Arrived!

Royal Caribbean has officially taken delivery of the Legend of the Seas, the third ship in the revolutionary Icon Class fleet, joining her sisters Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas.

At over 250,000 gross tons, Legend of the Seas is one of the largest cruise ships ever built. She features the now-famous Icon Class design, including:

⚓ Multiple neighborhoods designed like a floating city
💦 The largest waterpark at sea with thrilling waterslides
🌴 Seven pools, including the stunning suspended infinity pool
🎭 Spectacular entertainment venues and next-generation shows
🍽️ More than 40 dining, bar, and lounge experiences
🏡 Thousands of cabins, including the iconic family suites

The delivery ceremony also marks the completion of years of planning, engineering, and construction involving thousands of workers at the shipyard. Seeing the entire crew and shipyard team gathered together is a reminder of the incredible effort required to bring one of these floating cities to life.

As cruise ships continue to grow larger and more innovative, Legend of the Seas raises the bar once again. Whether you’re a cruise enthusiast or not, it’s hard not to be impressed by the scale of what is essentially a luxury resort, theme park, entertainment complex, and hotel all sailing across the ocean.

Will Legend of the Seas become the next must-sail ship? Time will tell, but one thing is certain: Royal Caribbean’s newest giant has officially entered the fleet.
