They need to fix this immediately
If you live in Nevada we need your help! There are two assembly bills going to a vote this Friday: AB 356 would allow new evidence of innocence to be introduced when it is discovered, and AB 267 would compensate the wrongfully convicted. Call 725-444-9992 to urge your assembly member to support AB 356 and AB 267.

DeMarlo Berry was wrongfully incarcerated for 22 years for a 1994 Las Vegas murder he did not commit. In 2013 the real murderer confessed, but DeMarlo could not present the confession in court because an individual in Nevada only has two years after their conviction to present new, non-DNA evidence of innocence. Today DeMarlo is a free man, but he has been denied compensation for the years he spent in prison as Nevada is one of seventeen states that does not offer compensation for the wrongfully convicted.
