One day before I left for school, my mom had told me that after my brother was born she had another baby girl at a tough time and she had to make one of the hardest decisions of her life... she had chosen a loving family who couldn’t have a baby of their own, to care for her and love her. They had chosen to name her Hope too! We are 100% full blooded sisters and are both named Hope 👯‍♀️ After years of of us wondering about one another we finally reached out through Instagram and met in person May 15, 2019 🌟 I noticed she was following me and didn’t know if she knew we were sisters. I tried messaging her but Instagram was having an error and told me the thread couldn’t go through. I saw her post a cute puppy on her story and did a quick reply and she had responded!!! I was so excited I just told her that I’d love to meet her someday and I’m not sure how she felt about this whole thing. We started messaging like crazy and shared our playlists and it’s wild how similar we are! It’s like having a literal twin. She’s into photography as well and is super down to earth and she’s really funny 💫 I think having the same name adds to how we are so alike 😭 My heart is full, I’m literally shaking as I type all of this because I’m overjoyed. We get to make memories together now and I already love her so much 💓 I filmed our first meeting and we share what this experience has been like 🦋✨💕

| last night I had gone to Ninja Karaoke to support my friend Chad who did an amazing job btw and I remember telling Amber about this open mic because she said there wasn’t much for poets here in Vegas. I told her how welcoming the community is to everyone and I really wish I would’ve been able to hear her actually perform her poetry. I miss her so much and ever since she’s been gone she’s all I can think about sometimes. While being surrounded by all this love and all these beautiful people I had looked at Greg and said I want to honor Amber and I want to read one of her poems here. It just feels right. Before he started recording this video I told this crowd of people all about how beautiful Amber was and how precious life really is and to hold on dearly to all of the ones you love. Her words reached them. After I read her words, the host had asked everyone to hold a moment of silence to remember Amber, someone they hadn’t even met and my heart was so touched. People came to me and said her words cut deep and others after I went up spoke of their losses and troubles. This is why they call their open mic The Human Experience (). I love you so much, I know you were there with us last night and I hope I read it just as you would have.
