Life is too busy right now for us to focus on Encounter the Reel.

So we’re postponing and extending the deadline until July 11th.

We’re looking for photographers who are:

ALAANA women, non-binary & LGBTQ+
Must be 21+
Live in the Merrimack Valley (Lawrence, Lowell, Haverhill, Methuen priority)
Own a 35mm camera
Final exhibit: Nov 14, 2026
Notified by July 25

Our studio manager (yes, the cat) is back with an update. 🐈‍⬛🎞️

2024 was the experiment. 2025 is the proof.
Now we’re ready to find the 2026 cohort for Encounter The Reel—our Black & White 35mm group exhibit for ALAANA women, non-binary, and LGBTQ+ photographers in the Merrimack Valley.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to apply, this is it.

✨ Selected artists receive:
• Free studio time at Grainy Daze
• Create a custom hand-painted backdrop for yourself
• Help with your artist CV, bio & statement
• Collaboration with other artists
• A 10-image exhibit in October 2026

🗳 Eligibility:
• 18+
• ALAANA (African, Latinx, Arab, Asian, & Indigenous Peoples)
• woman, non-binary, or LGBTQ+ identifying
• Merrimack Valley resident (priority: Lawrence, Lowell, Haverhill, Methuen)
• Own a 35mm camera
• Can commit ~4 hrs/week until the exhibit

📅 Deadline: March 21, 2026
Notification: April 18, 2026
Exhibit: October 2026

90% of sales go to you. 10% funds the next round of artists.
