(Next up is a photo that may not be considered a great photo for everyone but it’s a photo that makes me smile. This is a photo of my best friend Mikayla Davis ‘s son (a bonus nephew). And one might think “oh how cute a little boy playing with his dog” but no that’s my dog. She came along because she absolutely loves her kids and it shows. They were just running around and chasing each other. This photo is just screams pure joy. )

(Next is this one of my favorite pictures. It pulls at the heartstrings that’s for sure. This young man lost his dad who fought for our country and our freedoms. I am so glad I got to capture this photo for him to hold onto and cherish forever. Just a beautiful and touching moment. I know I’ve been a little quiet on here lately… but it’s because I’ve been working hard behind the scenes…..I officially graduated with my LPN! 🤍

While I’ve been focused on school and taking this big step toward my RN, I want to make one thing clear—
I’m not going anywhere when it comes to photography.

I’m still taking sessions, just balancing a very full (but exciting) season of life. This season has been very busy. It has taught me sooo much. It has also reminded me of how important it is to slow down and cherish moments in life. No matter how big or small they may seem. And that’s exactly what I love doing for others in both nursing and in photography.

I had so much fun shooting at the Douglas County Fair - Kansas demolition derby this weekend. It was so beautiful to see how many people came together in honor of two men who have made a big impact in the derby community especially here in Lawrence. Both of their sons ran in the youth class and I knew I had to capture this special occasion for their moms Kayla Flowers and Lindsay Paramore.

What I didn’t know is that I would capture these 2 moments. Both of these young men didn’t have their dads running along side them like many of the others nor did they have them in the stands cheering them on. But they did have each other out there. I don’t know them personally but I know that those two understand the other on a level many of us will never understand. I am so glad I was able to witness such a special moment in derby world. It was so beautiful to see.
