SECRET to bubble wedding exits: bubble guns! This couple had about 5 amount their guests and they make sooooo many bubbles! I’ve done exits with guests blowing bubbles, and with a bubble machine plugged in at the beginning or end of the tunnel, but never have I had this level of bubble density.

Public service announcement: gathering with your family for holidays is a GREAT time to take extended family photos! Get a picture of the whole family, a mini session for each individual family, a portrait of *everyone* so you can see how they’re growing, get a picture with your siblings, with your parents, your spouse—get a picture of your parents with your kids, of cousins together, all of the goods! I know you’re thinking, it’s so stressful to get everyone dressed and ready, but it’s so worth it! Keep the outfits basic, rent a studio if it’s too cold outside, but take the pictures! Give future you the gift of capturing these memories now.

Once upon a time@there was a girl who was into photography but not really into social media, so she kind of forgot about her photography insta account for like an entire year.

It’s me. The story is about me. Anyway, hi instagram! It’s been a while. My name is Emily and I take pictures! I love photographing weddings, couples, families and portraits. I love photography because I love getting to know people, and when I photograph someone, even if I only get to be with them for 30 minutes, I feel like I know them so well. I love helping people feel comfortable in front of a camera, I believe everyone is photogenic, and I will make silly faces to get your baby to smile at me! Thanks for virtually stopping by!

Once again, my impulse issues have gotten the better of me. “Expect your photos in about two weeks,” I tell my clients. And then I deliver approximately 3-5 days later. I just get too excited about editing!

What I don’t get excited about is posting on social media (whoops), but the algorithm found one of my reels and now like 12k people have seen it, so I figured I’d better post some new content while the getting is good. Maybe some day I’ll figure out instagram. I doubt it, but a girl can dream.

Another wedding gallery finished! I love shooting weddings. I love being a part of such an incredible day, not just with the bride and groom, but with everyone they’ve chosen to share the day with them. As the rain poured during these wedding photos, a couple of friends and family members kept running out to hold an umbrella over me so I could shoot and stay dry. I love the joy on so many faces as they celebrate together. I love the smiles and laughter of two families blending together. I LOVE weddings.

Wanna know a secret? When I do family sessions, I look for moments to sneak in a solo photo of mom. It’s sneaky because she usually doesn’t want to stand in front of the camera alone. So there are other people in the photo, but she’s the subject. Why? I feel like most moms don’t have very many pictures of just themselves. So while she’s all glammed up for photos, I try my best to get one of just her. Because both she and her family should have pictures that capture just how beautiful, just how capable, and just how amazing she is.

My toxic trait is that I tell couples their session is over and then I say “Wait, ONE more” at least five times on the way back to the parking lot. But I have no regrets at all! Those last strokes of inspiration are often my favorites of the shoot.
