There’s something about the in-between that often gets forgotten…

In between the newborn phases and the first year.

Parenthood feels all consuming.
The newborn window is closed.
They aren’t old enough to look and smile.
Photos seem like another thing on your never ending list of things to do.

I get it - everybody dreams of a perfect photoshoot, so you wait until things slow down and the kids can cooperate.
But time doesn’t slow and life isn’t perfect.
It’s messy and busy and chaotic and quick.
And sometimes life happens and the pictures don’t.

I was that mama. I AM that mama.

But I promise you will never regret taking the pictures.
These moments are all there is.
They will never be as little as they are today.
And one day, if you’re lucky enough to have them, you will look back and photos will be all you have.
You’ll cling to them like a lifeline to the past.
You’ll smile at the tiny time capsule of their childhood.
You’ll remember how it all felt.

Take the damn pictures.

With me.
With another photographer.
With your phone and a self-timer.
I truly don’t care how.

But take the damn pictures.
