When you look in the mirror, I hope you see HER staring back at you.

I’m not talking about the version of you that performs and monitors herself, trying to control how she’s being perceived.

I’m talking about the goddess inside you that knows her inherent worth, her power to create and destroy, her most authentic self.

She sees you. She knows you. And she loves you, unconditionally.

Have you met her yet?

I’d love to introduce you two.

Making friends as a woman shouldn’t feel exhausting or awkward.

But most community spaces don’t support authentic connection.

That’s why I created craft & yap as an experience that make connecting feel natural, structured (in a good way), and low pressure.

you don’t have to figure out what to say, “work the room,” or be anything but yourself.

just show up

we’ll move through guided connection rounds (so you’re not stuck in small talk), exchange crystal beads, and create nature-inspired bracelets together.

it’s intentional, a little crafty, and a lot easier than you think.

Female friendship is so vastly underrated, we’ve been tricked into thinking it’s not essential for women’s wellbeing.

We’ve absorbed negative messages of comparison and competition with other women. And along the way, a lot of us started feeling like we had to perform to belong…

be the fun one, the put-together one, the interesting one, the chill one, the always-available one.

Please hear this: you don’t have to compete, impress, or shrink parts of yourself to find community.

In fact, this Sunday I’m hosting a small International Women’s Day Gathering at the WMNKND studio in Kansas City centered around women’s experiences and community.

It’s structured enough to make meeting new people feel effortless, but relaxed enough that you can just show up as yourself.

We’ll have:
✨ guided connection rounds (with conversation prompts so it’s not awkward)
✨ a crystal bead exchange + bracelet making
✨ group photos once everyone is warmed up and hyping each other up

Female friendship deserves intention and prioritization.

A lot of us were raised in subtle competition with each other. Conditioned by patriarchal systems that benefit when women compare, shrink, distrust, or stay disconnected.

The sister wound is real. It shows up in the quiet fear of being judged, excluded, replaced, and misunderstood.

But, we can build something different. We can choose community over competition and comparison. We can practice by showing up for each other in small, intentional ways.

That’s the inspiration behind an International Women’s Day gathering on March 8. This will be an intimate, structured-but-relaxed afternoon of connection at WMNKND Studio.

Together we’ll:
✨ connect during guided “speed-friending” rounds (convo prompts provided so don’t worry about awkward small talk)
✨ exchange natural crystal beads (also provided)
✨ make bracelets to take home after (instruction + materials included)
✨ take some group photos after we’re all warmed up + comfy with each other

This is for ALL women (and nonbinary folks that related to women’s experiences) who crave community over competition and want to gather in a space rooted in care and matriarchal values.

Only 4 spots remain in this circle we’re creating. $40 saves your spot and includes everything mentioned above.

Come as you are and join the community we’re building this International Women’s Day: https://buy.stripe.com/00w4gz4zY6fKfHJcZif3a0e

Here to add some 🔥 WARMTH 🔥 to your feed today.

Last month, I got the itch to add more lamps to the studio. I’ve been craving more warmth, more home, more light. Especially now.

Sustaining warmth is a form of self-care and community care.

Please protect your energy. Use your fire to create. Let it burn down what doesn’t work and use what’s left to forge a better way.

If you don’t tend your warmth, if you let your fire go out, you will freeze. And so will the people and things you care most about.

Our world doesn’t need more burned-out women, frozen and overwhelmed.

We need you to sustain your fire.

Hi, I’m Mik: the human and bo***ir photographer behind WMNKND! And this is Jessa, my soul mate, studio support animal, and resident nervous-system co-regulator (she takes her job very seriously).

A little about me, so we can be friends:

✨ I see the world in photographs and find beauty in places we’ve been taught it doesn’t exist.
✨ I believe how you feel comes before “looking good.”
✨ I move slowly, explain what I’m doing, and always center consent.
✨ I photograph women the way I’d want to be photographed without rushing, fixing, or objectification.
✨ I know the difference between being looked at and being truly seen, held, and comfortable. I’ve learned how to hold space for this because I’ve needed it myself.
✨ I’m awkward, but approachable lol; I forget words, lose my camera when it’s sitting right next to me, and regularly bump into furniture.
✨ I feel most like myself among plants + nature (the more unruly, the better).
✨ I love dancing like a mad woman + reading novels with powerful, imperfect female main characters.
✨ I only wear pants that make my ass look good, bc life’s too short for clothes that make you feel like s**t about yourself.
✨ I’m endlessly inspired by women who are unapologetically themselves.

WMNKND exists bc feminism, to me, looks like rejecting the patriarchy by being our truest selves, embracing our messy parts, protecting our joy, and letting ourselves be a little feral AND deeply sensitive.

Both make the world a better place bc how we show up in our bodies, our lives, and our communities impacts the world around us.

WMNKND is a soft place for you to land, a rebellion in a patriarchal society, a little whimsy where magic has been all but forgotten. And a reminder:

YOU'RE ALREADY ENOUGH. 🌿✨

“You cannot pick and choose what parts of her to love.” -Dorian Havilliard, Heir of Fire

If you’ve read ’s Throne of Glass series, you probably recognize this quote. If not, it was spoken by a prince about the FMC. This quote has echoed in my head ever since I read it:

You cannot pick and choose what parts of her to love.

I’ve been picking and choosing what parts of myself are worthy of love my entire life. Loving my eyes that are the same color as my brother’s and Gam’s. Loving my ability to see the beauty in others. My freckles, my tattoos, my creativity, my compassion…

All while shunning the parts of me that felt unlovable. My stomach, my teeth, my anxiety and depression, my needs…

And then I wondered why self-love felt so hard.

But I cannot pick and choose what parts of me to love.

I also see this in other women when they come into the WMNKND studio.

When they answer the question I ask everyone that books with me: “what parts of you do you love and what parts do you need to work on loving?”

When they warn me about their scars and other parts of themselves they’ve learned to deem unworthy.

When they say “this might be weird…” introducing a prop that is meaningful enough that they thought to bring it and include in their photos.

But you cannot pick and choose what parts you to love.

I see women realize this during their bo***ir experience when they come alive in their body and forget that the camera is there at all.

When they remember what it’s like to be present and feel joy in their body.

When they stop compartmentalizing parts of who they are and fully embrace their sensuality, their power, their past, their shadow selves, their professional selves, their authentic selves.

Self-love isn’t attainable until you learn to love all of the parts of you.

To see, accept, and love your whole self—not a fractured version.

So I have to ask… what part of you have you been leaving out of your own love story? Which part of you is still waiting for permission to be loved just as fiercely as you love others?
