Since I have about 100 new followers… give or take a few… and I realize I never introduced myself along the way… so… let’s take a moment:

✨HI!!!!✨My name is Sarah Gentry! I’m a Watertown, TN native but currently live on the Caney Fork River, just past Gordonsville… you know the place… it’s where when your power goes out you not only are without power and internet but your cell phone doesn’t work either! 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ My husband, Destin, and I built our home 7 years ago on his family’s farm where we live with our two sassy, wild, sweet, funny girls Camden (4) and Emersyn (1.5). My sweet girls have hung the moon in my book… they are hands down my best and biggest accomplishment in life.

I teach visual art and, new to me as of a month ago, journalism/yearbook at my Alma Mater, Watertown High School. I started there when the new High School opened in 2014. I love teaching! And I should, it’s deep, deep in my blood. From 2015-2025 I was also the High School Softball coach but decided that I loved being a mom way more than I loved being a coach and decided that even though I loved coaching young women so much, my heart was pulling me to start spending my afternoons, evenings and nights with my sweet girls! And I haven’t regretted that decision for a second!

I started this photography journey mainly because I LOVE photography. I love art. I love seeing other’s art. But I also love creating my own art too. And just like teaching, photography also runs deep in my DNA. My dad was a long time photographer for local newspapers and the Tennesseean and he LOVED capturing local athletes at WHS.

So if you are new here WELCOME! If your been here a while and wasn’t sure who was behind the page HI!! Hopefully I get to work with some of you soon!!

Slowly but surely making my way through this senior session from this past week...

I had Cooper as a Freshman in my Visual Art 1 class... goofy, like 99.9% of my freshman are, but he was still wise beyond his years, polite, and I caught on pretty quickly that he LOVES football. When his mom reached out wanting to get some senior pics I was SO EXCITED when she mentioned he was hoping for some on the football field too.

If you've been around for any amount of time you know I LOVE a black and white edit. Not quite as much as I love the Purple Tigers but not far from it! LOL 💜🐅

We wanted to let our page grow organically but here we are… staring 500 followers in the face… we’ve gotten here with only one give away… and a WHOLE bunch of hard work. I had the absolute honor of getting to capture my baby sister and her FIANCE Jack's engagement... It wasn't easy keeping that secret and what made it worse is that in TRUE baby sister fashion, Madi is NOSEY!!! LOL

But these pictures... I'm only a fraction of the way through the album and I could have posted every. single. one. I'm so excited for Jack and Madi and praying for all the happiness as they embark on this exciting chapter of their lives! I LOVE Y'ALL!!!🥰💍❤️

Anytime I have a session, this guy right here is ALWAYS on my mind. As you can see… he wasn’t ever very far from his camera. It went anywhere and everywhere he did… And when I get asked or told “Why don’t you charge more?! People would pay more if you charged it!” I ALWAYS tell them about him.

My dad LOVED photography. But what he loved the most about it was it was his opportunity to give back to people. If you were in any type of athletics at Watertown High School, before he got too sick, there is a HIGH probability he took your picture, and there is a good chance he went and had it printed off, put in a frame or a folder, and he gave it to you or your parents the next game. I have no clue how far back he did that but I came across some Watertown basketball pictures from the 80’s in one of his photography books this past Fall… Even when the digital photography world took over I remember him going the day after a ball game and printing off a picture for every kid he captured the night before.

One thing he told me has stuck with me through my own photography journey and it’s the one thing I always hear when someone brings up that I should charge more— “I’m blessed to have a camera, a good camera, and I’m blessed with the knowledge of how to use it the right way… God blessed me with that. So I’ll keep taking pictures and printing off pictures for kids… and I’m not going to charge them for that.”
