I know I’ve mentioned this before, but every once in a while I have a session that reminds me exactly why I love what I do and fills my cup just when I need it.
Last night was one of those sessions.
I drove to the home of a family I had never met before, and within minutes it felt like I was getting a glimpse into the beautiful life they’ve built together. The laughter, the smiles, the little interactions between family members - those are the moments that make this job so special.
What made this session even better was how easy and stress-free it felt. We spent the evening hopping from field to field in a side-by-side, chasing the best light and trying to find a spot with a little less wind. There was no pressure, no rushing around - just a fun evening filled with laughter, conversation, and making memories while capturing them at the same time.
Photography is about so much more than taking pictures. It’s about preserving memories and capturing moments that families will be able to look back on for years to come. The days may feel long sometimes, but the years go by so quickly, and being trusted to document these seasons of life is something I never take for granted.
As I drove home last night, I thought about how lucky I am to meet so many wonderful people and do something I truly love. How lucky I am that my job allows me to witness so much love in so many different forms.
So if you’ve ever invited me into your home, met me at a park, chased your kids around during a session, laughed with me, trusted me with your memories, or supported my little business in any way - thank you. You may see photographs, but I see stories. I see love. I see the beautiful lives you’ve built.
And nights like this remind me that this is so much more than a job.
It’s a privilege.
