Back to school mini's!!!! Book your day before the dates are gone!!! If you bring a costume of what your child wants to be when he/she grows up you'll get 10% OFF!!!!
In a few years you'll get to see if he/she changes what they wish to be or when he graduates high school we can do memory lane type of photo! The excitement!!! ugh I can't wait!!!

Bender Elementary

A couple of weeks ago I went to drive by Bender Elementary School in hopes that someone would be there and possible let me tour the school since I've wanted to for so long, unbeknownst to me it has been sold and new owner was there at the moment. I asked if I could do a video and some photos of the school and he gracefully obliged. I was ecstatic. Now here are the photos.
and here is a little back story.

Bender Elementary was formed in 1920. In 1930 was joint with Riverdale Joint Union High School. Er-go's, the name Joint. It derives from several schools joining the district. In 1948 Bender Union was formed blending Lanare School and Bender School with an attendance of 75 students. In 1953 the 2nd building was built. The school merged with Riverdale Elementary in 1958 and the last year Bender was in session was in 1967. Bender Elementary is the last and only school building still standing from about 15 school buildings in the surrounding areas. Westside excluded as the original building for Westside Elementary burned down in 1947 and Westside was a different district.
