One Golden Summer ☀️

I’ve had this shoot living in my head for a while, and I’m so excited I finally got to bring it to life. A huge thank you to my sweet friend who let me use her beautiful property and to this couple who was willing to jump into my vision and make it all come together. 🤍

Inspired by one of my favorite books, One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune , with a little lake life, golden light, summer romance, and (because I couldn’t find a yellow boat) a yellow floatie instead. 😂💛

What a way to end the summer.

And if you make it to the end… can you spot the film photos? 👀 A couple of these were captured on film by the couple themselves, and I love that they became part of this little summer story.

A little break from my usual content because apparently my husband needed to have his hot rod moment. 😂🕶️

Some cars are just cars, and some become part of the family.

This old Buick belonged to my husband’s grandpa, then his dad, and eventually him. Our daughter has ridden in it too, so in a way, four generations have shared this car.

She wasn’t even supposed to be part of the photos…but of course she felt left out and had to get in on the action. Those ones ended up being some of my favorites from this shoot.

It’s seen better days. There’s rust. There are dents. (Details pictured above 😅) It’s definitely not winning any beauty contests.

But there’s a lot of history here.

Since it isn’t safe to drive anymore, he wanted to give it a proper send off. And of course, he wanted to do it like he was the coolest guy alive in his hot rod.

So we did! And I ended up living the results.

It’s seen better days, but it’s also seen a lot of life. 🖤 SCRL

When Brian first reached out to me about a photoshoot he was planning for his wife, I have to admit… I genuinely thought it might be a scam😂 It sounded a little too good to be true.

But nope! Brian is just really that thoughtful. 🥹 He wanted to surprise Taylor, his stunning wife and fellow photographer, and get her in front of the camera for once. And after meeting them, I can confidently say they truly are the sweetest family.

The kiddos were an absolute joy, and of course they had to take their turn behind the camera to get the perfect shot of Mom and Dad, too. 📸 (Their work is featured above )

This is what 40 years of marriage to your best friend looks like. 🥹

These two just happen to be my parents, which made this session even more special.

Forty years of choosing each other, growing together, weathering every season hand in hand, and creating a lifetime of memories.

It was such an honor to witness the love they still share after all these years, and an even greater honor to capture this milestone for them. Getting to document my own parents’ 40th anniversary is something I’ll always treasure.

Happy 40th anniversary, Mom and Dad. Thank you for showing me what a lifetime of love can look like.

Twirling in matching dresses, sharing tea parties, and running through the grass until sunset, just pure, joyful childhood love. These are core memories in the making.

Senior Sunday ✨
Lauren | Class of 2026

When Lauren arrived for her session, she told me she was dreading it, felt awkward in front of the camera, and only agreed to come after bargaining with her mom to let her bring her cat for a few photos. 😂🐈‍⬛

But if she hadn’t told me that, I never would have guessed.

She was a total natural in front of the camera, up for every idea I threw her way, and even agreed to get in the water at the end of the session. She made my job easy and made the whole session feel effortless.

I have a feeling she may have left enjoying the experience a little more than she expected. 🤗

Your future is unwritten, Lauren. You’re off to a beautiful start. 💛

These photos hold such an extra special place in my heart. Today marks 10 years married to this handsome fella right here. 😚

At this point, he doesn’t even question my crazy ideas anymore. He knows once my mind is set, it’s usually best to just go with it. So naturally, we hiked out to a waterfall at sunset with camera gear in hand to take our own anniversary photos.

And honestly? The best part isn’t even the photos themselves. It’s the memories tied to them. The hike, the laughter, figuring it out as we went, and the moments (and cobwebs) in between. Every time I look at these, I can still hear us laughing while we took them.

These are the kinds of memories I know we’ll cherish forever.
Safe to say…we did not, in fact, follow TLC’s advice. 🌊
