Having been in business since 2008, I've come to determine that now more than ever, these 3 things ring true for just about everyone:

My main love is photographing premature infants in various neonatal intensive care units and I am a leading expert in this speciality. Since 2011, I offer these very special sessions free of charge to local Kansas City families with a micro preemie (born 30 weeks and under). My work has been commissioned by large entities such as Pampers, the national office of March of Dimes, HCA Midwest, and more with various publications, both online and in print locally, nationally and internationally including an exclusive segment on The Today in 2014. My work in the NICU is what I'm known for and my 5 minute mini-mini sessions help me support my family while offering the NICU work for free. Thank you for supporting my work!

Today marked the last day of the 2025 season and it was a record breaking year of 530 mini sessions as well the first year with dedicated senior sessions and some custom family sessions mixed in. 375 of those mini sessions were from Labor Day to today, I'm tired! I'm truly thankful to the hundreds of families who come out to see me year after year and support this incredible small business I've worked so hard to create. I know I'm terrible at social media but trust me, it's because I'm out there working with so many incredible families versus on my phone and word of mouth travels far faster than I can come up with a reel. Now I just need to finish editing about 100 sessions this month and this gal is going into hibernation until spring (except some senior sessions braving the cold if we dare). Spring mini sessions resume in April and bookings open March 1st 2026. Next year marks the 10 year anniversary of the pivot to 5 minute mini sessions and I've got some exciting things up my sleeve you won't want to miss! A handful of favorites from this adorable family at the Nelson a couple weeks ago. These boys keep me hopping and I am here for it, I can still hear their giggles! All of these and even more that I sent to Mom were done in just 8 minutes (they were first up so we started early!) The image of the boys running around Mom & Dad is a recreation of their engagement photos in that very spot and here they are about to welcome baby # 3! 💖

Born at 23 weeks + 4 days weighing just 12.3 ounces at birth, when I photographed this wee miss last Friday during Santa's visit she weighed in at 1 lb 10 oz. She was full of smiles because even at that tiny, she had literally doubled her birth weight. Talk about inspirational.

I feel the NICU sessions calling me back... 💜

We had such a beautiful day at the Nelson a couple weeks ago. The trees were so radiant (which this particular image doesn't show much of) but it was completely overcast yet worked in our favor as this is such a rare shot to get because usually the sun is shining in full on the museum and the light blows out the building the first 2/3 of the final hour before sunset. But this image was a full 90 minutes before the sun went down and it was so fun to be able to get the museum in all its beauty behind them. ☁️💛
