Great horned owls are considered an apex predator and as you can see, at even at this young age those talons are some serious weapons. When I'm with any wildlife, I'm always respectful of their space but when I'm photographing these owls, there's a big respect because mom and dad are usually right above my head with even bigger weapons. I won't usually photograph their babies unless I know the parents are okay with my presence because they're quite intimidating.

I decided to get out for a moment today and go find something to photograph. My subject ended up being this screech owl but at first it was just being a typical sleeping screech owl in day. After watching it for few moments, it ended up opening its eyes and became very concerned about something. At first, I thought it might end up hunting but than I saw what it was so mad about. It was the least of my worries but for this screech owl with babies nearby, it was not happy.
