Citizen Photographer Exhibition Opens at the Lewes Public Library

The Citizen Photographer exhibition, which was recently on view at the Delaware Art Museum, will travel to the Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Avenue, where it will be on display throughout the month of August.

An Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, August 1, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

Citizen Photographer is part of a statewide initiative connected to the nation's 250th anniversary celebration. Photographers from across Delaware were invited to submit images that explore what it means to be a Delawarean, encouraging participants to reflect on themes of identity, place, community, and civic life. Together, the photographs help tell Delaware's story through the unique perspectives of its residents.

The Coastal Camera Club is well represented in this inspiring exhibition. We encourage members to attend the opening reception, experience this thought-provoking collection of photographs, and congratulate the Coastal Camera Club photographers whose work was selected for the exhibition.

Teresa Hughes
CCC Member, Teresa Hughes, won 2nd place in the Garden Creatures category for the 2025 20th Annual Washington Gardener Magazine Photo Contest. Her print will be on display beginning August 2nd through August 31st at the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens Visitor's Center along with the other 16 award winning entries.

Brook Hedge
Congrats to Brook! She is having her second solo exhibition at the Patricia Ladd Carega Gallery in Center Sandwich, NH, opening Saturday, July 25th. The show, Bacco, Tabaco, e Venere (Mostly Venere), features a collection of nudes and other photographs.

2025-2026 END OF YEAR PSA Inter-Club Awards
We are so very proud to announce the final results of the PSA Inter-Club 2025-2026 Competition. Members who submitted images for consideration for Rounds 1 through Round 3, and for those whose images were selected to go through to the PSA level competition should be extremely proud of their work. The images submitted this year, as in previous years, were exceptional. We have a very talented group of photographers in the Coastal Camera Club and our member results and club results surely have shown through!

All members who received Merit Awards in Rounds 1 through 3 had their images placed in the final competition for Color, Nature, Monochrome, Travel and Photojournalism. The images competed against all other Merit award winners . These results are now available.

Congrats to Linda! She had two photos accepted to the Annual Beverly Bassford Memorial juried art show at the Art League of Ocean City. Her photograph, “Sunburst” took first place. The exhibit runs through the end of July 2026.

Leon Smith took down his beautiful exhibit at Garvey Senior Center and Joanna Macaulay's exhibit went up this week with help from Beth Fabey and Leon. The free exhibit called Birds, Blossoms and Beaches is up through the end of August for folks who are over 50. (pictured).

Scott Cote has a photo or several in the St Mary's County Arts Council Leonardtown Gallery throughout July with a Golden Hour theme. The Gallery is open Wed-Sat 11 am-4 pm.
