I’ve seen a lot of conversations lately about AI and sharing children’s photos online, and as a family + child/teen photographer, I wanted to share a little bit about where I stand. 🤍
I completely understand the concerns. The internet is changing, AI is changing, and I absolutely understand why some parents and photographers are becoming more cautious about sharing identifiable images of children online.
It’s something I’ve thought about a lot myself.
Sharing my work has always been a big part of my business. It allows new families to get a feel for what a session with me is really like — the connection, the little personalities, the in-between moments, and the memories I get to capture for my families.
That being said, you may have noticed over the past year I’ve already intentionally stepped back from posting as many new sessions as I used to. I’ve shared very few new sessions and have mostly been sharing older work that had already been posted previously, with a few newer sessions mixed in. Trying to mostly post couples and consenting adults. I’ve been trying to be more mindful about what I put online and how much of my clients’ life and little ones I share.
I will continue sharing my work, sometimes new or old and that may sometimes include images of children, but only with permission, just as I always have. 🤍
Moving forward, I also want to be even more intentional about what I share. You may see fewer identifiable images of children and more little details, tiny moments, hands, feet, cuddles, or images where your child isn’t easily recognizable.
So while my social media may look a little different, the galleries I deliver to my clients will remain the same. I am still working as I usually do. I’ll still be capturing all of those genuine moments and giving you a full collection of your family’s memories.
And if you don’t want your child’s face shared online, please just tell me. You want your gallery kept private, absolutely. No explanation needed. No awkwardness. No pressure. Ever. I have consent forms for this very reason and continue to use them.
At the end of the day, these are your babies and your memories, that is so special to me. I take your concerns and privacy very seriously. It's an honor to capture your babies, kids, and teens for YOU, no pressure to allow sharing.
Your choice. Always. 🫶📸
