I’m putting together a fun new workshop at my studio at the Artists’ Attic downtown Lexington — AR Cat Paintings! 🐈✨

It’s similar to the interactive cat portraits we did for Purrsonalities last year:

The paintings would be simpler and more stylized for time, and each theme would have its own premade AR effect.

Think “paint and sip” vibes, but with tea, light snacks, cozy atmosphere, and augmented reality cat art instead of alcohol. 😸

I’d love some feedback:

• Would you be interested in attending something like this?
• Do you like the name “Purrtraits” / AR Cat Paintings?
• Would weekday evenings around 7–9:30 work for you?
• Would Sundays be better?
• Would you bring children or prefer adults-only sessions?

I'm in the top 20!

I'm in the top 20 of my group and made it to the next round. Thank you all for keeping the momentum going.

Some folks were asking about the organization holding this competition, so here's a little bit about it.

The Art of Elysium is a Los Angeles-based arts organization that uses creativity to help people facing social and emotional challenges, such as illness, displacement, and crisis, by connecting them with volunteer artists. It provides multidisciplinary arts workshops (fashion, film, music, visual arts) in hospitals, shelters, and senior centers, fostering a mutual exchange where artists inspire communities and communities inspire artists. The organization also supports artists through programs like "The People's Artist" competition. 

I believe art heals and is something we all need, especially in challenging times. Votes through donations are benefiting this organization. And while I believe this is a good organization with a mission I can support, you don't have to.

You can vote for free every day throughout the competition.

Way to go adventurer!

You found me. That's a feat I'm told.

Anyway, this is a piece I've been working on called Entering Respite. It's a companion piece to Emerging Resilience. Both are images of the same cave. One from inside, one from outside.

I'm excited at the progress. Can't wait to see what else I discover in this process.

I'll post a time-lapse of what I did today.
