The wind really showed up for this one 🤍

Johannes and Amari kissing after their ceremony at The Bryan House, veil flying behind Amari like she's in a movie. I did not plan this. I did not ask for a gust of wind. It just happened, and I was already shooting because you don't stop during the recessional. Ever.

This outdoor ceremony in front of the house in Nicholasville, Ky was everything. The floral arch, the Kentucky sun, the brick walkway. And then the wind gave us this.

I asked Amari to spin. She gave me a whole moment 🤍

This cathedral-length lace veil during her solo portraits at The Bryan House was unreal. The backlight from the setting sun lit up every edge of the fabric, and the movement made it look like something out of a magazine. Except it wasn't posed or planned. I just said "give me a twirl" and she went for it.

Converted to black and white because the lace texture and the flow of the veil said everything on their own.

I need everyone to understand that this light arc is not edited in 🤯

This is from Johannes and Amari's golden hour portraits at The Bryan House in Nicholasville, Ky. I used an in-camera technique to bend the setting sun around the couple, and the result is one of my favorite shots from their entire wedding day.

This is exactly why I push my couples to save portrait time for sunset. That golden window only lasts about 10 minutes, and when it hits, it HITS. You can see the farm fence and the farmland in the background, all soaked in that warm Kentucky light.

I need to talk about this photo from Johannes & Amari's Bryan House Wedding 😂

The Bryan House is a working farm in Nicholasville, Ky, and the animal pen is right next to the reception tent. So during the reception, the guests just... migrated to the fence. In their suits. In their ties. To have a staredown with an alpaca.

This is the kind of thing you can't put on a shot list. And it's exactly why I love what I do 🐐📸

This photo stops me every time I look at it 🥹

Amari during her first touch with Johannes, reading letters back-to-back without seeing each other. Eyes closed, tears rolling, and still smiling. That's the whole moment in one frame.

Fun fact: finding the right spot for this first touch was a whole thing. The house didn't have a good space for it, so we scouted outside and landed on a beautiful tree. The light was a challenge (dappled sunlight is every photographer's frenemy), but the moment was worth every bit of extra editing work.

I'm still not over this moment from Johannes and Amari's Bryan House Wedding 🥹
For their exit, the couple wanted ribbon wands with lights. At night. I'd never shot that before, so I was running on pure adrenaline and instinct. I asked the guests to crowd in tight, told Johannes and Amari to go for the kiss, and just fired away.
And LOOK at Amari's face. That's not a posed smile. That's pure joy. This is why I do what I do 📸
