Behind every beautiful image is a little chaos, help from my husband, and some deeply questionable noises coming from me behind the camera.

Beckett absolutely stole the show during his flower field session at Middle Springs Farm, even if getting there involved wagon rides, teamwork, and me making sounds no adult should probably make in public.

May was full of dogs, dramatic Kentucky skies, and racing the rain to catch tiny moments of sunshine between the clouds. I photographed so many incredible dogs & people in May and my heart is very full.

Somehow the rain made everything greener, moodier, and even more magical. One of my favorite moments this month was receiving a Top 10 award through Unleashed Education for my “Framed” image of beautiful Kate.

And of course, I can’t forget my own little pup, Henry, who constantly reminds me to slow down, chase joy, and appreciate the moment right in front of me.

Don’t forget the dads behind the camera this Father’s Day.
My dad took this photo of me and my first dog, Brun, years before I ever became a dog photographer.
Happy Father’s Day to the dads, horse dads, and dog dads who helped shape the stories we still carry with us today.

Some pups are outdoorsy.
Roo feels more like she belongs in a tiny boutique that sells candles, flowers, and raspberry macarons.

As the love child of Carmen and Dostell, she somehow inherited equal parts sweetness, and storybook charm.
She brought the softest spring feeling to her session, complete with peonies and a pink sweater that may as well have been custom made for her.

Growth always sounds beautiful when you’re hearing about it on a podcast or watching it happen from the comfort of your couch. But creative growth for me looks like lying in the grass for the perfect angle, shooting and reshooting, location scouting everywhere I go, and learning how to create something new that I've never done before.

I’m sharing more about my experience in Unleashed Education’s Emerge challenge, including the creative highs, the self-doubt, the vulnerability, and what it’s really like to step outside my comfort zone as a dog photographer.

Mother’s Day hits a little different when you have a dog.

I love photographs like this because they capture something beyond posing perfectly. A quiet little nose kiss in the middle of spring. Wildflowers in the background. The kind of moment that feels ordinary while it’s happening, but years from now becomes priceless.

To every dog mom, step mom to a rescue, honorary dog aunt, or person whose camera roll is 97% dog photos... this one’s for you.

Happy Mother's Day!

Magnolia has main character energy everywhere she goes.

Whether she’s making friends at the dog park or posing among the peonies at the Arboretum during our recent photo session, she carries this joyful confidence that makes people stop and smile.

Which feels especially beautiful knowing she spent the first three years of her life as a stray before finding her forever home with her mom, Livia. Now she’s living her very best life surrounded by peonies, sunshine, adventures, and the kind of love every rescue dog deserves.

Magnolia is also a proud Lexington Humane Society alum, making this National Pet Month feel like the perfect time to celebrate not only the dogs we love, but the second chances that change everything.
I recently wrote a blog article about meaningful ways to celebrate National Pet Month with your dog, including a few dog-friendly Kentucky favorites along the way.

If you’ve been looking for ideas to celebrate your own pup this month, you can read the blog (link in the first comment).
