Emerge Photography Challenge Update:

A little background: I'm participating in the Emerge Photography Challenge alongside pet photographers from around the world, and every two weeks we submit a new photograph based on a particular technique. My current one, Pantastic, has definitely been one of the hardest yet.

The goal of Pantastic is to capture the dog running from the side while simultaneously keeping the head, and especially the eyes, tack sharp.

I've spent countless early mornings at an empty dog park, lots of practice sessions with amazing model dogs, and more than a few missed shots.

The only thing harder than stepping outside my comfort zone? Choosing just ONE image to submit!

A little late sharing these... because sometimes life has a way of rearranging our best intentions.
But Sugar's story is far too special to keep sitting in my camera roll.
Every rescue has a beginning. For Saved by Fate, that beginning has four paws, a wagging tail, and the sweetest smile.
Meet Sugar.

What started as one very special dog grew into a rescue that has given countless dogs a second chance and helped families find their perfect companions.

This birthday session wasn't just about celebrating another trip around the sun. It was about celebrating the life of the dog who inspired so much love, hope, and second chances.

Watching Mara and Sugar together reminds me that we never really know how one dog will change our lives. Sometimes they simply become our best friend. Sometimes they inspire something far bigger than themselves.

Behind every well-trained dog is a human with treats in their pocket and dog hair on their clothes.

What started as a branding session in the studio became a celebration of the people behind the treats, training plans, and countless happy tails. Behind every beautiful image is a little chaos, help from my husband, and some deeply questionable noises coming from me behind the camera.

Beckett absolutely stole the show during his flower field session at Middle Springs Farm, even if getting there involved wagon rides, teamwork, and me making sounds no adult should probably make in public.

May was full of dogs, dramatic Kentucky skies, and racing the rain to catch tiny moments of sunshine between the clouds....

May was full of dogs, dramatic Kentucky skies, and racing the rain to catch tiny moments of sunshine between the clouds. I photographed so many incredible dogs & people in May and my heart is very full.

Somehow the rain made everything greener, moodier, and even more magical. One of my favorite moments this month was receiving a Top 10 award through Unleashed Education for my “Framed” image of beautiful Kate.

And of course, I can’t forget my own little pup, Henry, who constantly reminds me to slow down, chase joy, and appreciate the moment right in front of me.
