It’s been way too long since I’ve shared anything here, but my baby niece, Lillian Sebastian, turned 20 today (well, yesterday, but my portrait photographer friends will understand why I’m still awake at 4am). I wanted to share one of my all time favorite images of her. This image helped me win Photographer of the Year at KPPA (Kentucky Professional Photographers Association) my very first time entering print competition nearly two decades ago.

Business has been booming this year and I’m so grateful for all my new Lexington clients who’ve put their trust in me. When I get through the holiday rush, I can’t wait to share some of the beautiful people with whom I’ve had the privilege of photographing, and most importantly, becoming friends. Each and every one has played an integral part in making Lexington feel more like home everyday. And to my Ashland clients I still have the honor of photographing, I’m eternally thankful for you. Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart!

And happy happy Birthday, JoJo! I can’t wait to see you this weekend. I love you so dearly! 💝

Ashland's Homecoming pictures have been ordered and everyone should receive them in the mail this week! I've been photographing many of these kids since they were babies and it's always such an honor for the opportunity to photograph them again. Thank you for trusting me to preserve such special moments. I genuinely cherish the relationships we've built through the years! 🥰

Special thanks to my dear friend, Leigh Latherow, for allowing me to use her awesome event space, Gathered AKY. She's got some exciting things planned there, so be sure to follow her page to keep informed. This was the first time I'd used my signature white background for a dance, since moving to Lexington 2.5 years ago, and it remains my absolute favorite.🤍

Happy National Daughters Day to my sweet girls, Annabelle and Carlyle! If I’d known how much I’d love being friends with my adult daughters, I would’ve had them sooner. 👩‍👧‍👧

Relationship portraiture is one of my all-time favorite things to photograph! I cherish the images I have with my girls that celebrate the special bond we have. 💗

It's such an honor to have been asked to photograph the beautiful ladies of TOPS in Lexington for the August issue. It's an even greater honor that they chose this image for their cover! This is such an awesome team of empowering women I have the pleasure to work with each month. Love these ladies!

I included the original also, since the conversion to CMYK for the printer dulls the colors a bit.

Shew! I have so much to share! I had every intention of being more active on social media, but work and summer concerts🤘 have kept me hopping and I'm a terrible multitasker. (I miss my amazing assistant I had when I lived in Ashland terribly! I love you, Angy!)

I began working with TOPS in Lexington in March. I shared the images I took for the April issue and then I'm sorry I just left y'all hanging. I've since contributed to the May, June, July, and August issues and will be sharing those images soon.

First, I want to share one of the most fun experiences I've ever had. TOPS has an awesome team of photographers. There are several who mainly shoot candids at events that are featured online at https://www.topsinlex.com and in the Events section towards the back of the magazine (galas, grand openings, parties, Keeneland, Derby, etc.). And Keni Parks and I are the two who mainly shoot stylized sessions for the printed magazine. But in April I had the opportunity to photograph the KMAC Couture Fashion Show in Louisville. From their website (https://www.kmacmuseum.org): "KMAC Couture is a wearable live art runway show presented by KMAC Museum. It is the signature fundraiser for KMAC Museum that provides funding for the Museum's educational programs and exhibitions. This event offers a unique way to experience art and fashion. KMAC Couture features and supports emerging and established artists, costumers, designers, and milliners through the extraordinary presentation of original couture pieces of wearable art and conceptual fashion designs."

If you're a fan of fashion or contemporary art, I can't recommend this event more highly! Attendees are encouraged to wear all white, so the models' fashions are better highlighted. They also had a reception and after party that were incredible. During the fashion show, I stood on a platform with a couple other members of the press and we danced the night away to the music the DJ played, while we documented the night. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! Kentucky is rich with such beauty and talent!

Ashland Prom goers, you should’ve all received your print orders by now. Please let me know if you haven’t. Here’s a link to download your digital images. I apologize for the delay getting them uploaded. I’ve been out of town, my daughter graduated from college on Friday, Derby on Saturday, and I’ve had grad sessions galore! 😵‍💫

My favorite thing about photographing dances is seeing the kids I’ve photographed many times and developed relationships with through the years. I’m honored that every couple was a repeat client. As a photographer, it’s the highest compliment and I’m grateful! 🥰

The April issue of TOPS in Lexington is out and here are the beautiful people I had the honor of photographing. Not only were the locations awesome, but these movers and shakers in their respective industries could not have been more enjoyable to photograph.
