Happy Sunday!!

It has been quite awhile since I’ve posted on here and with good reason - my husband and I welcomed our sweet baby girl just over a month ago now and we have been adjusting to parenthood and soaking up all the sweet newborn snuggles.

That said I am officially back to shooting sessions as of today, and I’m so excited to get back at it! I intentionally chose not to book any weddings this fall so my next wedding isn’t until the spring, which is the longest I’ll have gone without shooting a wedding since 2017! Crazy.

That does mean I do have more availability for some last minute fall photo sessions than usual this year though, so please reach out if you’re interested! 🤍

A perfectly Lexington wedding with the sweetest couple. We could not have asked for better weather or better people to celebrate, and I absolutely loved that these two incorporated so many recognizably Lexington locations into their wedding day!

PS Madison & I played soccer together in high school (in Lex of course!) and she is still just the best human. So thankful I was able to capture this day and celebrate with her and John! 🫶🏼

Finally getting around to posting a few photos from this gorgeous fall wedding I was lucky enough to capture!

Alyssa & Brad had the sweetest and prettiest wedding day. We were able to capture photos at a few different locations between NKY and Cincinnati and I loved how these skyline photos turned out! 🫶🏼

We’re officially just over a month out from my first lead photographer wedding of the year, and I’m officially gearing up, attempting to finish up my taxes, and preparing for another fun wedding season ahead!

She said yes! 💍

Will I ever get over the best 24 hour trip to Florida ever!? Probably not. Last weekend was perfect and I am so happy for Adriana & Jonathan!!

Two weeks ago, Jonathan got my phone number from my husband, asked if I could hop on a plane on Saturday morning and capture his Fort Lauderdale proposal to one of my favorite humans. I said yes immediately, of course, and his mom and I secretly flew down on Saturday morning.

Adriana’s sister (who lives in Boston) also secretly flew down that morning, and we all hid in a nearby restaurant until these two arrived. Adri was legitimately so surprised and it was literally perfect!!

PS 1000% ready to go back to Fort Lauderdale any day now, I am very much over this cold and rainy weather here in Kentucky!

California Dreaming ✨

I’m not sure I’ll ever stop sharing bits and pieces of this gorgeous Napa Valley estate wedding! And in honor of my having just booked all of our hotels & cabins for a trip to some of the National parks in Cali this July, I figured I might as well share a few of my favorites from the gorgeous dinner setup at Erin & Drew’s intimate California wedding!

PS I cannot wait to visit with our OC family AND see Joshua Tree, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, and Yosemite this summer!! One day I hope to visit all 63 National Parks. I’ve been to 8 so far so after this summer we’ll be about 1/5 of the way there! 🫶🏼

Because I thought we could all use a little sunshine with all this crazy wind and rain and lows in the negatives on the horizon! ☀️

Fun fact: I actually LOVE sunny days for photos, even if I’m shooting in the middle of the day in summer! Don’t get me wrong, it can be quite toasty, and golden hour light is my absolute favorite, but I’m not afraid of shooting in the middle of a sunny day if that’s what fits the timeline better. (This photo was taken at 2pm in August for context!)

Overcast days are still totally great for a nice even light, and can sometimes make photos “easier” since there’s a little more wiggle room when it comes to shooting angles, but I just really have a thing for bright warm light!

PS I absolutely loved getting to shoot Allison & Kevin’s wedding at Germantown Gables this summer, and I’m getting more and more Louisville weddings on the books each year which makes me so happy! 🫶🏼

Elizabeth and Michael had the sweetest fall wedding last year and I have been meaning to post more from their day for so long, so pardon me while I sneak some of their photos into the feed this winter! 🫶🏼

I clearly fell off on posting again (fall busy season got me!) but y’all I cannot believe Christmas is only a few weeks away now!! Our house is officially about as Christmas-y as can be and I’ve been making a big push to get all outstanding weddings delivered within the next 12 days & all outstanding smaller sessions delivered by no later than a week before Christmas but oh my goodness I think I’ve still got at least 80 hours of edits to fit in the next three weeks or so! 😵‍💫

That said, we’re getting there!! If you’re waiting on a gallery from me at the moment thank you so much for your patience! It’s been a busy busy fall but I’ve loved being able to capture allll the pretty things again this year! 🫶🏼

Laughing because this week has been a hot mess of stress but I know Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I can’t wait!

I am currently officially done shooting weddings for the year and am doing my best to catch up on edits! I’m currently making a big push to get all outstanding sessions delivered by the end of the month, and all weddings delivered by at least a week before Christmas! So if you’re waiting on photos from me currently please know that I am working hard and currently still running on schedule! 🫶🏼

PS I cannot wait to be back at The Brown for Akaya & Parker’s wedding day next fall!! These two are so fun!

✨that just married, danced all night with my best friend and now we’re headed home feeling!✨

PS I am headed to Lex for the weekend and I’m excited about it because it’s probably been at least 6 months since I was in Lex for anything but a wedding or work work! (Aka in & out trips!) This time I get to see some of my people and cheer on the cats!! 🫶🏼

Sydney & Mitch

These two got married on Derby Day and had the sweetest wedding day from start to finish.

They met way back in elementary school and had no idea then that they would wind up together forever. Such a fun story and such a perfect wedding day. I absolutely loved being a small part of their big day! 🤍

PS the second picture in this set immediately sets off “Going to the chapel and we’re gonna get married!”🎶 in my head every time I see it.
