Here’s how I prep the studio in between shoots. 😃 I remember when I first started photography, I would do all my sessions outdoors or in my clients homes. I always dreamed of having a space of my own, maybe I thought it would make my job easier. 😳
Actually, having a studio helps me to be more creative and opens the door to clients who appreciate my creative vision. This requires more time and energy to make sure I’m providing the best for my clients.
I’m learning to simplify where I can, like keeping my popular backdrops up and available for multiple clients. I’m staying open to new possibilities to express my creativity everyday!

Tips for Photographing multiple children in the same family. Save for yourself or share with a friend that could use some guidance. Hopefully Unnecessary Disclaimer: every kid is different. These are tips that work for ME. Take a few minutes to learn about everyone’s interests to help them stay motivated throughout the shoot.

1. Young kids & Toddlers: have lots of games (pickaboo, favorite song, hi fives) and photoshoot ready toys available. I used a toy train for the little on in this reel. They may take a while to warm up to plan accordingly.

2. Older children (9 and under): give lots of compliments and offer incentives (ice cream, favorite snack etc)

3. Preteens and teens: include them in wardrobe and hair choice. Give them easy poses and lots of reassurance so they feel comfortable in front of the camera.

After nearly 10 years with Locs I was ready for a change. And in true ME fashion, when I want something bad enough…I go for it! 💇🏽‍♀️ My youngest child, who has never seen me without Locs, was very against it at first but once I told her we could be hair twins, she gave me her blessing. 😆
