I don’t typically post anything like this on my business page, but tonight I feel like I need to. ❤️
During soccer photos tonight, a coach asked if he could get a picture with his daughter. That happens fairly often, but for some reason, tonight it really touched my heart. I had to hold back a tear.
One of the biggest reasons I started doing photography was because I wanted people to have photographs they could treasure forever—especially photographs with the people they love most.
Thirteen years ago, my father-in-law and my dad passed away just 40 days apart. Losing them both changed something in me. Not long after that, I decided it was time to finally take photography classes and learn how to capture those moments for other people… moments that someday may mean more than anyone realizes at the time.
Sometimes busy season absolutely wears you down. You get tired. You question yourself. You wonder if you're good enough, or if maybe it's time to move on and do something different.
But tonight reminded me exactly why I started.
Tonight, I got to capture a dad and his daughter together. A simple photograph to me, perhaps—but someday, that picture may be one of the most treasured things she owns.
And tonight, I’m thankful.
Thankful that I get to do this.
Thankful that people trust me with their memories.
And thankful for the reminder that these little moments really do matter. ❤️📷
Sometimes you just need a moment like tonight to remember why you started in the first place.
