Jmklingbeil Photography We have been given a beautiful place to live while we are here on this earth. My dream is to capture and share the beauty that I see with others

I knew that without having the right camera lens and being in a crowded location, I wasn't going to get the "best" shot of Big Boy, so I opted for a different view. As you can see in the first photo I caught the front of Big Boy as it entered into the South Side of Pittsburgh proudly flying the PA State flag. The second photo captured the inner child in us all as we gaze upon these incredible trains. I spoke with the gentleman in the shot afterwards and he said I can share his story: He grew up in the area, and actually the church in the background of the first image (St. Casimir built in 1893) was where his mother attended school. She was married in that church, and it is where he was baptized. He said he came back to the area specifically to see the train from where he grew up. As a child he would spend hours sitting by the tracks just watching countless trains go by. So not your typical Big Boy train pictures, but these are more special to me with the story they tell. Thank you, Big Boy, for uniting people in more ways than we imagined!

Beautiful day for the re-dedication of the Blair County Courthouse Clocktower. For many years the courthouse clock and bell have stopped working and thanks to the determination of Sam Dunlkle, the support of the Fort Fetter American Legion Post 516 and the generous donations of many people the clock tower has been restored, and today the 150-year-old bell rang again for the first time! The next phase of the project will be to replace the damaged clock faces, so that they will once again be functioning and illuminated. Great turnout from the community and local and state officials. As Pa. State Rep. Scott Barger recently stated "...we don't always need the government to run to our rescue..." the entire restoration has been funded by public determination, business and private donations! Thanks to all who have been involved!

So happy to see the beautiful Chimney Rocks Star over Hollidaysburg patriotically lit up for the America 250 celebration. Lighting was a challenge for me to capture good images, but the moment was great. Love the community and the people of Hollidaysburg. Many thanks to the Hollidaysburg Borough for coming up with the idea and making it happen. The star will be lit for the whole month July.

I spent a relaxing week at my favorite lake in Maine - Sokokis Lake. Can't wait to go back! Here are a few images I got while there. (Nikon Z8 180 -600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR) All shot from a noninvasive distance and images are all cropped. Please remember to never stress the wildlife when viewing them.
