The will forever be Rowan’s happy place! #🏝
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This post features our long lining (“sniffy” walk) session at the coast this past Friday. The majority of our routine walks are on a long line and I typically use either my 20ft or 33ft long line during these “sniffy” walks. Long lining sessions are beneficial to dogs for a multitude of reasons; for Rowan specifically, it is an activity that bolsters his confidence. The plethora of smells, stimuli, and additional enrichment a dog encounters and interacts with on a walk can build confidence for future encounters and/or interactions. Rowan being an anxious dog, sniffy walks offer an excellent opportunity to work on building his confidence when exploring new (or familiar) environments! This sniffy walk features our 33ft long line made by !

To all our friends we hope you are staying safe from the devastating wildfires effecting our region currently!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This was taken right before the wildfires and smoke entered our area; it was one of our last sniffy (leisurely) walks before the air quality forced us to stay indoors. It was one of our best sniffy walks (a small portion being a working walk). We worked on reinforcing a multitude of skills, some of these include (but are not limited to): directional cues, stationary leave it vs. moving leave it, and settling in unfamiliar environment. Rowan is trained with a positive reinforcement approach (R+), I hope to integrate more training endeavors in future posts on our account!

We have missed our friends and followers during our hiatus and hope to post on a more regular basis in the near future! We are taking all the necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy during the uncertain times for our state! To our friends, again, we hope you stay safe and healthy!

We’re back (again 😂) from our hiatus! The demanding course load of the past and current term left me with very limited spare time and unfortunately could not post on a regular basis (or at all). But with the unique situation we now find ourselves in (quarantine) I hope to return to posting on a regular basis and share Rowan’s daily antics and our training endeavors! I want to also thank everyone who has remained following us and have inquired about whereabouts and status — we’re excited to be reconnecting with all of you! 💕

Missing this boy a little extra today! #🌲 I returned to campus for my next term of college after almost four weeks of spending every day with Ro! It’s hard not having my sleeping buddy without me, plus not waking up to his teddy bear face every morning!
Swipe, swipe ➡️ to see Rowan’s breed results! Australian Labradoodles consist of six breeds (the Labrador Retriever, Irish Water Spaniel, Curly-coated Retriever, American Cocker Spaniel and English Cocker Spaniel) so the breeds identified were not unexpected but still interesting to see the percentages Rowan is of each breed! From learning what makes Rowan the dog he is (from the breed and trait information) and the invaluable health information makes me so grateful for splurging and purchasing this test for my boy!
The winner of Rowan’s breed guessing contest is (who was are only guesser! 🤣 I guess you guys were not as excited for his breed reveal as me haha! 😂) Congratulations to Sirius and Remus’ owner for guessing the closest to Ro’s breed!

We’re starting the new year off with a small contest! We received Rowan’s breed results and are hosting a contest to see who can guess (the closest) to the three breeds Rowan is a mixed of PLUS the rough percentage of each breed! Winner will receive a shoutout on our story! Comment your guesses below! ⬇️
